Yo, this is my first post, I've got this Mac Mini 2018 with Ventura 13.2.1, recently my system had to be reset, after fresh install I noticed that opera does not offer to save passwords, I thought it was something which I messed up during installation, some privacy settings or something, as this was a fresh install I decided to stop digging and re-install macOS yet again, this time I did not install anything apart from opera and yet I cannot sync, save passwords and what is most annoying it does not keep cookies, so with every-time I start the browser I have to sign in to facebook, gmail, eBay, amazon etc. as you can appreciate this is extremely annoying! I have no problems on my iMac (also with ventura 13.2.1) nor any of my windows machines, the only difference with this setup is that it is a fresh install pulled from the web... any suggestions?! just to add, I tried with being signed in to browser and not, I tried logged to icloud and not, no difference whatever I do

@furkan-kutay As you could see, there doesn't seem to be a solution at the moment.

@andreibera I have the same problem, I just got a 2017 Mac, and I really hope they fix this, I love opera and will continue using it on my phone, but for now it looks like I’m going to safari on my Mac

It's been 25 days since the issue was reported, surely the devs know about this by now. There was an update yesterday, still no fix, I would guess this should be high priority... as the browser, as good as it is, is broken and unusable.

Confirm the issue.
Update stream:Stable
System:macOS Version 13.2.1 (Build 22D68) 13.2.1 arm64
Chromium version:110.0.5481.100Macbook Pro 14, M2 Pro chip
macOS Ventura 13.2.1 (22D68)The "Allow all cookies" option is active. But every time when a browser is closed it loses all cookies for all sites.
I've tried different versions from https://ftp.opera.com/pub/opera/desktop - the issue is the same. I even cleaned up the "/Users/<my_user>/Library/Application Support/com.operasoftware.Opera" every time before a new release installation. Also I set "defaults write com.operasoftware.Opera OPDisableAutoUpdate true" to prevent updates.
But!
On my old Macbook Pro 13 (2017, on Intel chip, Ventura 13.2 (22D49)) Opera works fine.I'm very upset since I use Opera as a primary browser last 15 years.

Topic is suggesting that the issue is valid to ARM systems only - but I can confirm that this is not true. I've got Intel (6700k) Ventura 13.2 'hackintosh' and the browser is unusable the same way.
It's sad, I'm loyal Opera user since 2001 on both Windows and Mac...

I've been having a lot of problems with Opera too, after I updated to Ventura.
The thing is, it's not Opera, it's macOS Ventura, it messed up the configuration for Opera now it's all messed up, I try to downgrade it and it didn't work so it's Ventura. Opera, or Apple need to find a fix
I recommend switching to chrome for a little bit of time until Apple on Opera fix this issue, I don't recommend switching to Safari because it's not really that good.
I also did some digging on the forms, all the cookie and password problems say that their operating system is macOS Ventura

Hello,
I have 3 Macs and I have the same issue in 1 of them.
The one that has this issue where is not storing any passwords is a MacMini with M2Pro.
I tried to export the password from one of the working Macs and import to the one that is not working and doesn't work. I tried to add the password manually at the settings page and doesn't work either. Is not an issue with the Apple Silicon since one of the working Macs is a MacBook Pro with M1Pro Opera updated to 96.0.4693.20 (arm64). The other working one is an Intel based MacMini.
Waiting for a swift solution from Opera...

I too have this issue, After the update Ventura my opera forgets most login sessions.
This seems to be an M1 issue as my intel mac is fine, by my works mac with an M1 chip has the issue.
Also this happens on a fresh install of the OS and Opera, a reinstall of Opera also doesnt help.
How ever Home assistant does its login session, that seems to keep logged in.
Bug report in with Opera
Email: bs@opera.atlassian.net
use the subject:BS-50283 Opera on MacOS 13.2.1 forgets logins

The issue isn't with Apple Silicon at all.
It happens on my Mid 2017 MacBook Pro 15" which is obviously Intel based Mac.
The OS is Mac OS 13.2.1 -

I was an Opera user back in the early days. I wanted to give it another try. I downloaded the setup app on my M1 Mac, so this is a fresh install. I enabled ad blocking, trackers blocking, etc. "Save passwords" is enabled. I log into my Gmail and Youtube accounts. However, every time I exit Opera, my logins weren't saved: I had to re-enter my credentials on Google and Youtube. I was also never asked to save any passwords, and none were saved for Gmail or YT.
I thought this might be an M1 issue, so I did a clean install on my Intel MacBook. I did not change any default settings. I logged into Gmail and Youtube, but on restarting Opera the same thing happened.
This is very disappointing to see just as I'm trying out Opera again.

is there any official update from Opera? I cannot believe this is not fixed by now or any announcement from Opera

@jcmlny Apparently the devs know about this, I came across this bug 1 month ago, have switched to another browser since then. Response time is shocking...
