Tabs Grouping/Stacking

Opera used to have this feature, and it was great. It was way better than the current Workspaces, because you could quickly and easily make tab group "folders" on-the-fly. They never said why it went away, but if it wasn't because it infringed on a patent or something, they should definitely bring it back. Circa 2014 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWpJvg8icmM
This was a much better worflow, because I usually have lots of tabs open for [many] various different projects. For example, I may need to repair something on my car and open several videos, parts sites, and how-to forums. Then I have a similar set of several tabs that I use at work, about a trip I'm planning, looking for a Christmas present for someone, sites I frequent for a particular hobby like skateboarding, etc. Dozens of sets of several tabs each. Workspaces doesn't really work well for dozens of these little dynamic groups. Tab stacking, however, was PERFECT! Bring it back please!

I think it'd be a great and interesting idea to add grouping/a folder to tabs similar to google chrome and when the group or folder is closed all the tabs go to rest like when you don't use a tab for awhile on opera its a good way to save tabs for later without closing them.

@jayxsource Workspaces are Opera implementation of tabs groups and i don't think they will change it in a near future.

As someone who has an infinitesimal amount of tabs open at all given times, Chrome's tab grouping picture is so useful for helping me organize the chaos. I prefer Opera's features over Chrome's, but tab grouping is the only thing that's preventing me from comitting fully. Having a tab grouping feature where I can create groups with different names and colors would be the best thing never :>

@marmieladeorange You do know infinitesimal means infinitely small, don't you? As in, so small it can't even be measured.

@sgunhouse Thanks for the vocabulary lesson. I'll keep that in mind. In the meantime, can you actually address my concerns instead of critiquing my word slip-up? I thought moderators were supposed to act professionally and provide assistance instead of focusing on a petty and unrelated topic.

@marmieladeorange I'm not a developer, or even an Opera employee - just a volunteer. I can presume that for now they'd suggest you try out workspaces as an alternative to grouping, but what they plan for the future is not something they tend to share with us.

I'll just reiterate what the entire Internet world and beyond have been saying for years; Workspaces are in no way, shape or form, a solution or replacement for grouped tabs. They are as much a like as a reindeer is to a toaster oven.

Just like google, you can organize tabs into one topic, this would be really useful to students and workers

When I originally switched from Chrome to Opera GX and realized it didn't have it, I went back to Chrome, but I came back because I liked Opera GX more overall, but I still miss the tab grouping.
