Searching on Yahoo even with Google set as default

I have the same issue. Google is selected as my defualt browser but it still searches in Yahoo. Even when I type in the search bar at the top of the "Speed Dial" page, which has the Google Icon next to it it still searches in Yahoo. I've tried chaning it back and forth but no luck.
I've also noticed something else strange. Whenever I search something it closes the tab and opens another tab to the left of the previous tab (if I have multiple open). Idk if this is in some way related.

After updating Opera GX, whenever i use the search bar it searches using Yahoo instead of Google, despide Google being set as the default search engine. In addition, going to google.com and searching from there takes me to a Yahoo result page. Resetting the Opera settings fixed the issue, however the issue has returned in less than a week.

I don't understand either, one day opera GX just started to use yahoo instead of google and I don't know if it is a glitch or intentional or if there is a fix for it. If there is a fix, it would be nice to know.

@theofficialfcq54321 You probably got a malware. Disable all extensions and check your system with an antivirus.

I have all of my preferences set to use google for all of my searching and everything but GX will only use bing or yahoo when I try to search things.

@yung-will Did you already try disabling all extension and check your system for malware as said in the other topics about it?

@yung-will When you do a search, what's the address of the page with the results?

If your search engine keeps changing to Yahoo, it may be due to the browser hijacker virus. Hackers use the Yahoo search redirect virus to earn revenue generated by clicks on Yahoo.
