Search shortcuts getting inactivated

Today I open settings and I see about half my search shortcuts have been inactivated.

Is there a policy now to inactivate these things?

Is there a way to avoid these inactivations in future? Even if I don't use them frequently I'd like them to be there when needed without having to search them out and re-activate them.

@orshee You mean the ones in opera://settings/searchEngines? And what do you mean by inactivated? They were removed?

Maybe your profile directory got corrupted?

@leocg Yes, under opera://settings/searchEngines there is now a heading "Inactive shortcuts" and several of the sites I had listed under Site search (the heading above Inactive shortcuts) were now under the inactive shortcuts heading. I didn't put them there so I assume some algorithm moved them to inactive. Fortunately whatever moved them there didn't delete them so I was able to move them back to Site search. Is there a way to keep this from happening again?

@leocg Yes, that's because I moved all the ones that had shown up there back to where they were before ie in "Site search" where they had been for months before something moved them to "Inactive shortcuts". So what decides they should be inactive and how do I prevent that from happening again?

@orshee I was talking about me, my Opera installation.

Like I said, until your post I have never heard of it, so I have no idea what makes a search engine inactive other than the user manually doing it.
