Any way to remove all messengers?

Hi,
I don't use any of those services and even though they are all unchecked, every so often Facebook Messenger pops open on the left side of the screen. Is there any way to permanently remove/disable this functionality? Unchecking them does Not stop them from becoming re-enabled at some point (maybe there is some keystroke shortcut that does that??).
I'm running on Windows 11 pro.
thanks!

@jrrodgers I did. There's a toggle in the sidebar to completely hide the messengers section.

@sgunhouse thanks. I just noticed at the bottom there is the "Enable notifications for messengers" that was enabled. Turned that off now. Was that the toggle you were referring to?

@jrrodgers No, notifications should be just telling you how many messages you have, or when a new message arrives.. I'm not on my laptop yet to look it up, but there's a setting to hide the messengers section - might just be a toggle next to the section name, been long enough I don't remember. Will post again when I see it.

I don't know if there was every a way to remove the messengers section permanently, but they absolutely need to add this. It's very annoying that regardless of how many times I hide/remove the messengers, they keep returning over and over again.
It's almost daily now.
I suspect they're getting paid by Meta to persistently push Whatsapp and Facebook Messenger. If this continues, I don't know if I'll keep using Opera. Might have to switch to Brave as my primary browser.
