      Hi, I'm using Opera since version 11. I loved Opera Mail and I miss it a little. I'm from Cuba and I user VPN to access to some services to be able to work. But since several months ago the VPN option stop to work. Does the Opera's VPN servers change in time or are the same? Maybe they can be blocked here? Thanks

            I don't understand people who use proxy servers at all. First, you need to configure a proxy when you don't need to configure a VPN. Before installing Proton VPN, I read an article about this program bestvpnprovider.co, and I understood everything immediately. It is just my opinion, considering that I work for an IT company and know what I'm saying because sometimes we get an order to create a new VPN. But primarily, such projects are sporadic because they are very long and challenging to do. And it would help if you always had the most experienced employees in the project.                 Hi,

                I used to use a lot the Opera's VPN but since months ago there is not working here. Opera updates automatically and the problem persists in each update. Does the vpn address change or are the same always? Maybe is blocked here?

                I'm using Windows 10 and the last version of Opera.

                  that also happened many times with me. i just restarted it, try turning of all proxy/ vpn extensions. try changing location to asia. it was not working on my opera (on linux) and then it worked! i dont know about opera GX though...

                  if still no effect, do the recovery by clicking the opera logo.
                  (dont know if its available for opera GX as i never used it)

                    vpn's font work in most offices, but still you can use opera's inbuilt vpn.

                    if you are having problems with it (which all of us always have) you can try windscribe, get it from the chrome web store, it gives you a nice 10 GB per month for the free plan.

                      but its still dem slow . i hate that much slow speed . and as I know its not a totally VPN . its public proxy ..
                      coz it work like them . but it has low speed .
                      even proxy know for speed.

                        Opera VPN's built-in (native) hasn't been working for 5 days. Opera says that "VPN is temporarily unavailable. Opera is working on it." Is this a problem with the VPN or something on my end? During this time no changes have been made to Opera. The settings have also not been changed.

                        The 64-bit version of Windows 10
                        includes Opera version 72.0.3815.320

                                For a few weeks, the VPN has stopped working. as soon as I activate it I lose my internet connection. Before that worked perfectly and I haven't changed anything.
                                What can I do to make this problem go away since I can no longer access the VPN?

                                  Is VPN service on Opera down since the last day or so? I am on KDE Neon & v82 (.58 snap version is still not uploaded) and VPN was working fine until around 12 hours ago and since then I just getting orange connecting status.

                                  Hopefully, it is an Opera back-end issue and Opera engineers are already on it!

                                    Hello,
                                    Sorry to be opening this thread here again but since yesterday I've been having VPN connectivity issues. The VPN icon stays orange. Just to clarify, I can connect using other similar VPN services using extensions on Chromium browser.

                                    I hope Opera takes a look at this as this is the 2nd time in a week this issue is cropping up in less than a week!

                                    I think my earlier thread about the same issue got deleted but by next day of posting here, VPN issue got resolved & I was able to connect (till yesterday).

                                    If there is an easier way to report this issue other than here please let me know.

                                      I have just switched ISP to Virgin Media and they seem to be blocking Opera's VPN.
                                      I've had a quick google and can't find anything that helps.
                                      Has anyone found a workaround to this issue?

                                        @henryac If VPN is being blocked, there's nothing that can be done. You can try contacting your ISP to see what they will say about it.

                                          It's become extremely unreliable relative to the way that it's always been. I see "ERR_TUNNEL_CONNECTION_FAILED" before most sites load, if they load at all.

                                          I'm not sure if it's because there's a geographical issue, but in the past that's only meant speed differences, not reliability (with rare exceptions, such as the few times the VPN has been down). "Americas" is what I always use, but I think it's very much limited to Europe in reality, unfortunately.

                                          Note that I'm using 85.0.4323.0, which is new this week, so the possibility exists that it's the problem.
