Opera Keeps Reopening

I'm on macOS, and I'd using redquits to close opera so I can retain tabs after every session (it doesn't reopen the tabs if I just click the red button normally). However, opera treats the closing as a crash and keeps reopening every time I close the window. How can I stop this from happening?

@sgunhouse It actually reopens for that as well. I tried quitting opera with cmd+q and by opening the mac opera menu, but whichever method I use, it reopens and says that a crash occurred

Same problem here. Normally quit Opera using Command+Q shortcut, however, since the last update Opera reopens in roughly 5 seconds. It has become so annoying that I've quit using Opera and went back to Safari (which I don't like). Currently running version 77.0 on my iMac.

I've been having the same problem for a few months now. I was hoping it'd somehow vanish after updating to OS 11.5, but it hasn't. It's super annoying, and strange that there seems to be little documentation about it. Despite this, it has remained my preferred browser, although the duration of this bug has made me skittish and, consequently, I'm preparing to jump ship.

@djusth Although I like Opera, I don't like the automatic updates. In addition to taking away my control, the automatic updates aways leave me with a new problem to contend with. Restarting after I quit the application is just the latest problem that arose after an automatic update. Since it is not a serious problem, you would think that a fix would be simple and easy. Good luck to you, djusth, whichever direction you go.

@texaswest Hmm, it's interesting that I don't have that issue. The browser never updates unless I prompt it to do so.
