I am on windows and latest version of opera.
The files I'm want to download are directly linked. I am able to right click save-as, there are no redirects. But I want to be able to click on Download button and have the file saved to default download location.

I have already disabled the player feature, but that didnt help.

@turnip4545 Opera is a browser, if a file doesn't indicate it is supposed to be downloaded (typically by use of a Content-Disposition header) and is a file type Opera knows how to handle it will be displayed or played. Older versions of Opera (12 and earlier) would let you change this, but current versions don't.

but by the same logic why not display zip files, run exe files, if Opera is 'a browser'. It is the web browser, not multimedia browser so feels like there should be a way to disable browsing of video/audio files. Not even something embedded in the page just the link to download file.

@turnip4545 Opera can't handle those files.
And even the files that Opera can handle will be downloaded if the site says to do that.

Anyway, being automatically reproduced or not, all files are downloaded.
