Yesterday I got a notification from YouTube.
What version of Opera?

Opera team please pay attention to web notifications, which unfortunately do not work as desired. Web notification is very convenient, an advanced feature, I do not have enough of it to get the maximum pleasure from using the Opera browser.

Opera developer 60.
What about the latest builds? Do web notifications work?

Not exactly.
There are changes with notifications?

I think the problem may be with Youtube itself and not Opera. I do have a few subscriptions and I don't always get notified for new subscription videos from YT's app.

@slytheringirl The problem is in the Opera not in YouTube. In other browsers, everything is OK. And the problem concerns not only the YouTube site, but notifications in General.

You should go into Windows settings and see if Opera is selected as one of the apps that can give you notifications.
I once did this mistake with Chrome, it is easily done.
Please bare in mind that even if you enable the notifications for the website in the browser itself, you still need Windows settings permissions.
Hope this helps!

This is still an issue, also in Opera GX. Damn, every time I find put about a cool feature and I decide to give Opera another chance, thinking this time it's for good, a major issue like this spoils the experience.
Yesterday, I was posting about how there's no way to keep Opera running in the background, to get notifications in Windows action center. Opera doesn't even give notifications when open! -

Wait, I just got a notification from a forum. So it seems that some websites/forums do work.

I think its a bit unfortunate that the moderator team think this is a non issue that doesnt need to be addressed, i wonder what issues are more important than this, they need to take this bug with the seriousness its deserve, this may be one of the reasons why Opera no matter how good it is will never top giants like Mozilla and Chrome

Devs, please, pay attention. Enabled notifications work until the browser (Portable Desktop Opera\Opera GX) restarts. Then they disappear forever. They are marked as enabled but never work again.

Under "Account settings," click Notifications. Under "Channel subscriptions," check the box next to "Occasionally Notify me of new videos and activity from my subscriptions." Select whether you would like the notifications to come in as "Push," "Email," or both. Push notifications show on your mobile screen.

Any possible and impossible ways of solving the bug manually don't work. Every version of Opera GX\GX Portable\Stable\Stable Portable on different PC's work the same: system notifications disappear forever after Opera has been restarted once. 4 other browsers work perfect. The site also does not matter.
Different clean\unclean clients (ver. 42-78)
Windows 7 x64, Windows 10 x64 (latest build) -

@makisone-0 yes, it's a problem indeed. The reason why I left Opera browsers in 2021.
