Google default search engine?

I want Duckduckgo as my default search engine. I changed the settings and still see Google as the default. Why are Opera users forced to use Google? Will test other browsers where my preferences will be accordingly.

There is a difference between default search and speed dial search. If you type something into the address bar and that something is not a valid address, your default search is used. If you type something into the search box on the speed dial page, Google is used. Since you can search from the address bar, personally I just disabled the speed dial search.

@sgunhouse
Would be nice to have a Speed Dial search-engine of my choice on the Speed-Dial page (different my default engine, and different than Google).I suppose a work-around is to delete Google from the Speed Dial page, and add a link on this page for the engine of my choice. An extra mouse-click use this engine and search, but problem solved.
