So it's been a few more months since ditching Opera and I am now checking in again.

So. Do we have good old Opera bookmarks? From what I see on my updated portable copy that I keep it appears that there are still no bookmarks after all this time and the promise that bookmarks would be added again. I still do not see per-site settings whether to do with proxy, plugins/flash//javascript or anything else. In fact this Opera browser feels exactly the same as when it first came out.
Am I wrong? Is there something in the pipe line that I am not aware of since I have been out of the loop?

There is the bookmarks bar, so we can say that Opera has bookmarks. You can also use extensions, something that was requested during years by the users.

You can allow (or block) plugins/scripts per site.

I used to love Opera before it started having memory leak crashing problems with 2.xGB mem usage. Then when they moved to to the new chrome type engine it went to crap.

Perhaps, haha, you came to the forum to gripe. The Bookmark function is for me, quite reasonable.
We have the possibility of saving sites on the Speed Dial (which permits folders, so you can have a speed dial within each speed dial). you can thus have 100 sites or more saved on the speed dial. There is no other browser with a speed dial that comes close to that.
There is a personal bookmarks bar one can have. One can drag items from the personal bookmarks bar to the speed dial and vice versa.
There are pretty good extensions for a more traditional Opera-type bookmarks vertical display. I have the tidy Bookmarks for chrome extension. Others use different extensions for bookmarks. i forget the names. Opera users can use Opera extensions or Chrome extensions.
And finally there is Stash, for saving short term favorites, or however you want to use it.
And there are notes extensions, where you can save bookmarks. All told, it may not be perfect. Nothing is. But it is a pretty robust bookmarking system.
