Speed dial extensions are no longer supported - WTF

All of the threads that asked about speed dial extensions are closed after the short and obnoxious answer that it is no longer supported.

What do you mean speed dial extensions are no longer supported? Why is Opera even supported anymore? So many important features have been killed with reference to using Chromium that only habits keep us with Opera anymore.

Correct me if I am wrong but Opera has been Chromium for years now and supported speed dial extensions ever since. But not anymore.

Not wrong, but not complete. There are major changes in Chromium from time to time, which break things for Opera. Sometimes they can be worked around, sometimes not.

@tgaal Chromium doesn't support speed dial extensions but Opera managed to bypass that limitation and allow speed dial extensions for years.
However, changes in Chromium have been turning the support for such feature more difficult as time went by, until that the most recent versions of Chromium turned speed dial extensions something almost impossible to implement.
