Pasting into address bar adds .com randomly

Pasting a word (say one I copied from a webpage I want to look up the meaning of) into the address bar adds .com on the end, randomly - sometimes it does, but never when I try to repeat the problem! All I do is open a new tab by clicking the + on the tab bar, press CTRL-V, then enter.

I don't think you can.
That would be strange, since there's a huge list of keyboard shortcuts in advanced settings.

This one seems more of a system/universal shortcut. Even in Windows Explorer it will work.
I wonder if it can be disabled in the Windows 10 settings. I guess I could use the third party software autohotkey, but I can't be bothered!
