What is old is new?

I've been using the Opera forums for more than a decade and yet I am now a new user. What gives? Can this be fixed?

If you dropped of the forums after they closed down My Opera, then you are new ... but it says you joined 12 years ago, so you aren't new.

What are you talking about? As far as I know, the only way to see if an user is new or old is by checking the profile.

@leocg The forum itself limits how rapidly I can post new items (comments, replies, &c) telling me it's because I'm a new user.

See if that helps. On other forums which have this software, your reputation score (which is upvotes for your posts minus downvotes) determines this. It isn't supposed to here, but possibly a recent update changed it. (You'll find I had a post like this over on the Vivaldi forums.) I upvoted your last two posts - that may not quite be enough but try it.

It's most probably some anti-flooding protection and the message is just wrong. Or it can be related to reputation as said.

@leocg My guess at this point is that when the changed the forums over it reduced all the post-counts for users to zero. Just a guess but it seems to fit the available facts.
