      Hello all
      Hello Opera forums team

Why spam filter is so aggressive even for old forum members?

You and @kit888 seem to get that a bit. (He hasn't figured out yet that reposting the same message doesn't work either, he just has to wait for one of us to get here.) Then there's l33topera and blackbird.

There's certain words that trigger it, but also links to certain sites or just some general style things - and of course too many posts (including corrections) in a short time. Not that they've ever told us exactly, but joshl knows that if you use the word magic it will be held (so don't use it, if possible). Fortunately, moderator posts are immune.

I still get nailed by it all the time. It's a major nuisance.

The page you're taken to that shows your post has been blocked doesn't have a link to the post you were at. It kills your history too so you can't even go back to get to it.

Once your post is approved, it comes in last instead of the spot where it should have been. It's pretty messed up if your post takes a while to appear and others chime in before where it looks like you're then just reiterating what everyone else has already said.

Not 100% sure, but I don't think approved comments trigger email notifications for those watching the thread. I've always had to make another post to get users to notice my approved reply. It also seems like approved posts don't show up in the forum feeds.

Approved posts/comments don't update the latest posts column on the forums either. That and the fact that I don't get notified when my post is approved often causes me to not notice that my post had been approved. It's basically sit there and reload the page now and then till you see it.

What's worse is when you realize you need to add something to your comment, but you can't as it's not even approved yet.

Doesn't help that we've proven we're not spammers. Even this comment though might get tagged.

Certain keywords, certain styles of punctuation, certain kinds/quantities of URLS, certain symbols repeatedly used, and mixes of all of these that seem to lower the trap threshold for each individual issue - all contribute seemingly to getting your post trapped. I've finally come to the state of just 'writing off' a trapped post along with the point I may have been trying to make. All the things @burnout426 notes are accurate, so a post that gets trapped might just as well never have been written because once it finally appears, it's out of flow, unrecognized by the forum 'convenience' tools, and usually uneditable.

I don't particularly like it, but that's just the way things are. Moreover, I dislike sp-m in these forums much more, so it's all just something that has to be lived with here - at least for now.

              I'm tolerating it, for now.

The forum could have a "first post needs approval" policy, since the spammers usually do spam in their first posts.

Or maybe the spam filter could bypass users with a certain combination of number of posts and time as a member.

Guys, I just tried posting a new thread in the Lounge - it was "helled". Please assist:)
It's about cellphones. Nostalgic, plus maybe some more useful things later on.
Well, and if anybody cares, please change :hat: to , and :haha: to :jester: - the smilies button wasn't there and I didn't remember some
                  Thank you 🍺

Well, still I wonder, why the hell doesn't the Helling Machine like my weather reports?

Well, I have a guess - it's the word "forecast" now.
                      Why? 😕

Please if so, if that's the case (and this very comment is suspended), somebody whitelist the word.
Do we have such an option, by the way? 😕

We have no input into what they block. But forecast would not surprise me as they do try to block words that psychic astrologer would use. Mind you, that's not really what he's peddling - he's more into the black magic stuff instead of telling the future.
