@leocg hey thanks for the feedback. I'm not really savvy with this stuff, I went there and it took me to a folder named 'Opera Stable,' should I just rename the whole folder to something else or is it a file inside this folder that I need to rename? I looked for a 'profile' folder or file inside this directory but could not find any. Also, does it matter what I rename it to? Sorry for all the questions, I really do appreciate any feedback.

@ashrayspin just following up on this. This method of a clean profile worked at first, but after only half a day it went back to the video sizing being locked for me and the video being smaller. is yours still working?

@sirlinx for me it still works....but i'm using the developer edition, not the stable edition...

Hi, it's still happening to me on the stable version

Version: 54.0.2952.54 - Opera is up to date
Update stream: Stable
System: Windows 10 64-bit

It has an awful border and I can't resized it at all. Hope it get fixed.

Funny thing happened.. Opera updated and the video pop out is even smaller now. Please fix it. Thank you.

I don't have this black border and resizing issue on my both win8.1x64 PCs

I do have the black borders on the left, right, and bottom of the video player.

I have no issues resizing the pop-out player as long as I hover over the border of the video rather than the video player.

For those with problems, try out with a Private Window / Clean profile.

The three black borders happens here also on every stream.

I am on latest Opera version and have the same issue. Clean profile doesn't work.

@sirlinx I found a way to fix it. In the Appdata/Roaming, there's a folder called "Opera Software" and inside of it is "Opera Stable". Then find the "Preferences" file and edit the string thingy called "window_placement_video_popout" then change the "height" and "left" that you want. This allows you not to lose your history, cookies, passwords and etc.

@kilro-0 This worked for me. Thanks. I resized the popout window to a rather large size. After that I am able to resize the popout window using resize handles.

I want to update you guys something, for some reason when you make the pop out video smaller where it can't make it more smaller, the pop out will again or begin to again shrink. Just do the steps again and you will be fine

I solved this problem by going into the Settings, Advanced and then clicking on Restore settings to their original defaults
