Previous versions did remember the last selected bookmark folder in the left menu.
In my case it was the other bookmarks folder. After restart now, the bookmark bar is always selected

To be more specific: All bookmarks folder was the default folder in opera 50. Now its the bookmark bar folder.

It's annoying that I have to constantly got to "Other Bookmarks" evey time I need to go to a bookmark instead of having that be the default location. Looks like the devs are hell bent on losing as many loyal customers as they can. It seems that with each and every update whether it's PC or Android, they manage to ruin as much as they can with what once was a great browser. 😡 Once Vivaldi establishes their android browser and sync features, it's goodbye Opera for good with me.

Vivaldi is not even capable of right click on bookmarks in bookmark folder on the bookmark bar.
which is 10x more annoying than this.

            Way to go.... Vivaldi...

I am having the same problem. It is a first world problem, I know. I would love to be able to click on the bookmarks heart on my sidebar and automatically get the other bookmarks to show. One extra click but so annoying....

Yes I'm suffering with this also. And I've noted none of the regular contributors to this forum have replied on this so that pretty much means that's the default! 😞

@greemanik Maybe it's not considered a problem but an intended change?

@leocg I'm thinking the same. I'm getting sick and tired of the devs making stupid changes like that when there has been no complaints or reason to change somethig that isn't broken. Opera just continues to suck with each and every new update.

@leocg i don't think its an intended change. because why is it needed to see bookmark bar in two places at the same screen? it's annoying as hell...
or devs are just making fun of users...

@greemanik Did you ever think that most probably lots of people don't use the bookmarks bar?
And also that those who use the bookmarks bar may want to go directly to their bookmarks when opening the bookmarks manager?

@leocg So why not give people to choose which folder to see first when they open bookmarks manager?
And it's not a necessity to work with bookmarks bar in bookmark manager when you can do it directly at the top "bookmarks bar" panel.

@greemanik Maybe the idea is that people use only the bookmarks bar and speed dial, avoiding confusion and making things more easy for the users.

+1 to changing it back to the way it was, if I use the boookmark bar I already see those bookmarks, so when I want to see my other bookmarks I want to see... my other bookmarks and not the ones in the bookmark bar.

EUREKA! I find a temporary solution! Go to bookmarks, then right click on tab with bookmarks and choose pin tab. It will remember your last visited bookmark folder. And you can click on heart in sidebar too. 👌🏻 😎 👍🏻
