Tabs button if you are logged (+ other devices).
Sync button for a while and if there's any sync problem. You have to run sync from the menu every time you have to login.

Thanks for the fast replies!

@qwertzz The one at the top right will show up only if needed, to show that something requires your attention.
Alright, so that behaviour is ok. Thanks.

The tabs button - the one in sidebar - should show if you are logged into Sync.
Yes, i thought so too. But i don’t see it.
Afterwards i have a screenshot of my browser menu that shows i’m logged in.The second screenshot shows my sidebar with its context menu (all options are enabled). But i’m missing the button on the sidebar.
I'm confused. Some days ago all was good. (i didn't react fast enough to get the last version which worked for me)

@leocg : Yes, i'm logged in on two more devices.
- PC with Win7 N Pro.
- PC with Win10 Home
Both are actually not online/ they are turned off at the moment. But this shouldn't be a problem!? Available data should be synchronizised anyway!?
I just found the "reset sync data" option in my browser. When i click on it, i get to https://sync.opera.com.
There are 5 devices registered (my phone which hasn't opera mini installed anymore + an old device which doesn't exist anymore).
--> Later on i will reset the sync data and will log in again with 2 devices (3rd one isn't available at the moment). Maybe a reset will help here. I will give a reply if it helped or not. -

@qwertzz if there is no opened tabs to be shown then I guess it doesn't make sense to show the tabs icon.
Following this I have to run at least one additional device, beside the one I'm currently using!? o.O
--> And following this even more, this could be the point I'm missing:
Few days ago I deinstalled opera mini on my android device. Before, that was online all the time when I was working with another device (PC, mostly). So I always had my phone active and opera had an active device.
I really don't know if that is the problem I have, but according to you this could it be.
After I reseted my sync data I observed following :
- When i was online with 2 devices (A, the sidebar tab was visible on A.
- After i turned off B, the sidebar tab disappeared on A.
--> Looks like you are right here.
Sad, i always thought with the sidebar tab I have an easy access (on A) to my already opened tab in opera (on B), even after i closed the browser and turned off my other devices (B).
I mean, with https://sync.opera.com I still have access to the tabs I opened with another device (and that device is turned off!). But I have to go the way over this website and can't use just the button on the sidebar.Anyway, thanks a lot for your endurance and your help @leocg !

Now I am even more confused.
On my PC at work i got the sidebar tab back after reseting the sync data. But both other devices are offline, even turned off.
On the Win7 PC I don't have the tab.
I don't get it under which circumstances the tab is set visible/ invisible... -

What does your menu say? If it says "Synchronize" then you are not currently set to use Sync. If it says "Signed in as (your username)" then you logged in successfully (the button in the address bar disappears once you are connected). The sidebar button can be enabled or disabled by right-clicking on the sidebar and checking or clearing the checkbox.

It says 'logged in as'. So far so good I guess.
The sidebar button can be enabled or disabled by right-clicking on the sidebar and checking or clearing the checkbox.
See, that's the point where my confusion starts.
Yesterday I did not have the possibility to enable or disable the sidebar tab via the checkbox. See the screenshot above, there was no checkbox 'Tabs' available.
Today, after i reseted sync data. there is the checkbox 'Tabs' available on the same device. So this helped for that PC (Win10).
I also reseted sync data on my Win7 PC but still there is no checkbox to enable the sidebar tab. (I also reinstalled Opera on my Win7 PC without any changes).
--> So for now:
- Win10 PC is fine now. Reset sync data solved my problem.
- Win7 PC still has no possibility to enable the checkbpox on the sidebar.

Yes, both are up to date.Version information are:
Version information
Version: 49.0.2725.64 (PGO) - Opera is up to date
Update stream: Stable
System: Windows 10 64-bitMarginal note:
On my Win7 PC I have problems with Opera and flash content too which I could not fix. Slowly I guess my system has some general issues. Maybe it's time to reinstall Windows during the holidays and try to solve all the problems that way (hopefully).
