I have run Opera on theis machine for many months but in the past few days spell checking has stopped working. I have checked the setting, even dissabled and re-enabled the setting to no avail.
I am a slow typist and when I try to speed up I come up with some rediculouse spellings.
Any help please?

So, any idea when it stopped, and what happened just before that?

If an Opera problem, installing the offline version on top of the current one - without uninstall - may fix the problem.

Did you try to manually delete the dictionary?

@leocg Yes, deleted the Engish (British) dictionery, even installed a forein language dicionery (US) then deleted that and reinstalled the English dicionary.
As you can see it too failed to solve the issue.

Tested if American dictionary corrects the spelling?
Also, you can check, in a "Text box" > Right click > SpellCheck and see what's selected.
