      what impact is this likely to create for sites that require Flash?

      Probably none other than something like the one we are seeing on that page.

      When returning to the site mentioned, it reverted back and didn't want to know in v50.

      Try adding the page as an exception.

      It is however interesting that Flash still operates as normal on current stable and beta versions.

      Because they don't use yet the version of Chromium that has these changes on how Flash is handled.

      BTW, Flash is being deprecated so sites using Flash should start adapting themselves.

        Thanks Leo. Would I be correct in saying sites are making a transition to HTML5 and away from Flash? (I realise this is slightly off topic).

          Sites should be, whether they are is a separate question. Even Firefox will be dropping Flash support, so they have announced.

          Having said that, if I go to the Adobe test page to see which version I have, I am unable to get it to work. Right-clicking the plugin icon and selecting Enable Flash does nothing.

            Hi sgun - On test page a narrow dialogue appears at the top asking if you want to "allow" (as mentioned above). By allowing will then show your version, at least it did for me.

            Thanks for info Leo.

              Flash does not work on any sites. The plugin does not turn on. Adding a site to exclusions does not work. Opera 50. Adobe Flash Player 27.0.0.130

                Goto settings, Websites, Flash, Manage exceptions - Add the site you're having issues with and click "Done". Close settings window and reload at tab.

                Flash Player will open the site, and other sites using flash. I post this from Dev v50.0.2739.0 and have found no problems using this method from Win7.

                Be advised, if you add the site when using private window (as I do), the site will be removed when closing the browser so you'll need to add it again.

                  Opera 50.0.2743.0 (PGO). Website Test your Adobe Flash Player installation, http://get.adobe.com/ru/flashplayer/about/

                  Settings, Websites, Flash, Manage exceptions - Add this site. Rule http://get.adobe.com - Allow.
                  Opera does not allow to create other rules for this address.

                  Reload at tab. Flash does not work. The plugin can not be turned on from the context menu of the mouse.

                      When you enable it, there will be a bar shown at the top of the web page saying "get.adobe.com wants to run Adobe Flash" with two buttons: Allow and Deny. Yeah, I know, you already said you wanted to enable it (from the context menu), but it does ask again. After that, it does work.

                        Had some clients not being able to view the flash on the website www.beverlyhillscaviar.com and can't seem to replicate the problem so that it can be fixed? Any suggestions?

                          Nothing you'd be able to do on your end. Web browsers are phasing out support for Flash and other plugins, as most security issues in browsers actually come from plugins. Try to redesign your site to use HTML5.

                          PS: Why in the world does it say Cannot find Adobe Flash player 8? The latest version is 27!

                            Adobe Flash Player 27.0.0.130

                            Has updated to v27.0.0.159 and I still have no problems using the method I mention above using Win7 Pro 32-bit. 🙂

                                I am using ALT Linux 8. Here libpepflashplayer.so is located in /usr/lib64/pepper-plugins... I changed the file /usr/lib64/opera-developer/resources/pepper_flash_config.json:

                                {
                                "PepperFlashPaths" : [
                                "/usr/lib64/pepper-plugins/libpepflashplayer.so",
                                ]
                                }

                                But the flash still does not work... In other browsers all is ok. What have I not done yet?

                                rpm -qf /usr/lib64/pepper-plugins/libpepflashplayer.so
