Is Flash preinstalled on Opera 42.0.2393.517? I thought it was, sort of like it is in Chrone, especially because in settings it is defaulted to "Detect and run important Flash content (recommended)" but I bumped into some flash and it claimed I don't have flash installed. I even tried setting "allow sites to run flash".

Is flash not installed on Opera by default?

No. Chrome comes with Flash preinstalled, but Opera does not.

Thanks for letting me know. If I want to install Flash, should I do it from Adobe's website or is there an alternative to that?

Yes, only download it from Adobe.
The best bet is to download the installer here and just run it, then you won't be at risk of accidentally installing Adobe's "extras" as well.
            🙂

You should always download softwares from their official pages.
