Why the Facebook ad? On an Opera notification no less.
Check in 'Sites Preferences' if you didn't accepted Facebook notifications by chance.
I am not on Facebook. I never will be on Facebook
In this case there may be something very wrong. As i said, i never saw Opera for Android showing notifications, even less with ads.
Have you checked your device for malware?

Facebook notification wasn't a site issue. Opera was not active and yes, I check my device for malware constantly. I'm not a 'daft' mobile user. My phone has no games, no gambling apps, no hacked or pirated software.
Facebook itself is on a lengthy list of disabled apps where various American billionaires have decreed they can't be uninstalled from MY device.

Could you provide a screenshot of the notification?
It came and went. Not something I can bring back at will.

Go to Settings, Site Settings and disable it. If somehow you enabled it in the first place.
This is my site settings. This has never changed.

I had received hints and tips from opera mobile before on my taskbar about the data saver feature, it seems to be in actual app itself, if the browser is on standby for sometime possibly, I had my spare phone without sim receive it and my phone while I leave data on.

After getting a few spammy status bar notifications from Opera Mobile I just denied it permission to access notifications. Problem solved!

I keep getting an option at the bottom of the screen after typing into a text field offering me the option to search for the terms I've just typed. I want this gone but there's on option in settings for it.
