@MeronJM I have stopped using Youtube on browsers unless using skipcut because of the hard drugs and other inappropriate content they try to push.

I've been using smarttube on my nvidia shield / android tv / firesticks to bypass all illicit ads.

@ANewRecipeh Sometimes this happens if the browser is trying to open a shortcut instead of the real file. Try moving the file to your Downloads or Documents folder and upload again. If it still doesn’t work, clear site data or check if antivirusis blocking it.

@max004 For anyone experiencing this issue:
Opera GX is a very poorly coded browser that seems to have issues far too often.
Here’s the fix: go to Roaming\Opera Software\Opera GX Stable\default.old and copy all of those files into your main folder.
this may be the last time i use operagx
login via google account i can't change my password or sync my data

@Rad-Shiba Seems Opera has made deals with companies to suggest their websites in auto-complete. Not the first case we've encountered. Seems like a terrible implementation to me, though. Sorry, can't offer any advice except to type more letters until it doesn't match that site.

Check shift + esc in Opera to see if it shows as better description for that process. You can also enable the PID column in the Windows task manager to match it up with the PID in Opera's task manager.

You could also load Resource Monitor in Windows. On the disk tab, you can filter on the opera.exe process with that PID and then see what what files it's trying to read and write from etc. Might lead you somewhere.

@hackr500 I unfortunately can't help you with your specific problem, but I can recommend you try out uBlock Origin. It's a pretty lightweight adblocker that doesn't get picked up on by YT, and deals with pop-ups effectively. Make sure when you're looking for it on the Chrome Extensions store that you don't get a fake version, since people have found scams cropping up there from time to time.
