The RAM/CPU limiters are genuinely great and the reason I stay. But the bookmark system feels like it hasn't been touched since launch, and it's honestly embarrassing compared to what Firefox and even Chrome offer out of the box.

Here's what's missing that should be considered baseline functionality:

Drag-to-reorder inside folders
This is the big one. You cannot manually sort bookmarks up or down inside a folder. The only way to reorganize is to delete and re-add, or export to HTML, edit the file manually, and re-import. That's absurd for a 2026 browser. Every other major browser has had this for over a decade.

Sort options (A-Z, by date, by most visited)
There's no built-in sort. No right-click → "Sort by name." Nothing. If you have 200+ bookmarks in a folder, you're scrolling through them in whatever random order they were added.

Separators / Dividers
There's no way to add a visual separator line between groups of bookmarks inside a folder. Firefox has had this forever. It's a simple horizontal line that helps visually organize bookmarks without needing a subfolder for every small group.

Bulk operations
You can't multi-select bookmarks to move, delete, or reorganize them in batch. Want to move 15 bookmarks to a new subfolder? That's 15 individual drag-and-drops — assuming drag even works, which brings us back to point 1.

Better import behavior
When importing bookmarks from an HTML file, Opera wraps everything in an "Imported" folder and merges with existing bookmarks instead of offering a clean replace option. This makes migration and backup restoration unnecessarily painful.

Search & filter in the bookmark manager
The bookmark manager search is bare minimum. There's no way to filter by folder, by date range, or find duplicates. Managing a large bookmark collection is basically impossible without external tools.

I get that the GX brand is built around gaming features, themes, and integrations. But bookmarks are core browser functionality. People who use GX for the performance features shouldn't have to fight the browser every time they want to organize their saved links.

These aren't feature requests for nice-to-haves. This is stuff that was standard in browsers 10+ years ago. Please prioritize it.

After the browser has been open for a few hours (or a couple of days), its behavior starts to change:

Tab closing issue:
• I need to click the close (X) button on a tab twice for it to close. Earlier, a single click worked fine.

Pop-ups / overlays not appearing:
• Menu pop-ups and overlays stop showing up. For example:
• Clicking on File / Edit menu
• Opening profile or extensions
• The expected dropdowns or overlays do not appear.

The only workaround I’ve found is to force quit and restart the browser, after which everything works normally again.

This seems to happen consistently after prolonged usage, so it might be related to session time or memory handling.

Opera GX version: Core: 129.0.5823.26 (Early Access)
Chromium version: 145.0.7632.117
Operating system: Windows 10 64-bit
Issue started: March 28, 2026

Description of the issue:

I've been using Opera GX on my desktop for a few months without any issues. Yesterday (March 28, 2026), I noticed that My Flow is no longer working.
When I open My Flow, I see an error message:
"Something went wrong"
Below that, there are two buttons: Reload and Reset.
What I've tried:

Clicked Reload – the page refreshed but the error remained

Clicked Reset – no change, same error persists

Reset all browser settings – still no improvement

Restarted the browser multiple times

Restarted my computer

Checked for updates – browser is up to date

What I expected to happen:
My Flow should open normally and sync with my other devices (phone, tablet) as it did before.
What actually happened:
The error screen appears every time I try to access My Flow. The feature is completely inaccessible.

Screenshots:

Additional notes:

My Flow was working perfectly before March 28

No changes were made to my system or browser settings before the issue started

My other Opera GX features seem to be working normally

I am logged into my Opera account

I am on the Early Access update stream
Does anyone know how to fix this? Is this a known issue with the Early Access build? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Bug 1: "Set as default browser" banner cannot be dismissed

Description:
Opera GX shows the "Set as default browser" banner on every launch, even when it IS the system default browser. The banner reappears after every restart.

Opera GX internally calls
xdg-mime
which requires
qtpaths
. On Arch Linux,
qtpaths
is installed at
/usr/lib/qt6/bin/
but not in the default PATH. Even after adding a symlink in
/usr/bin/
, the banner persists.
