Make sure Opera's adblocking and tracking prevention is completely off at the URL opera://settings/privacyProtection, make sure RGX is off at the URL opera://settings/lucidMode, make sure web modding is off at the URL opera://settings/web_modding, make sure shaders are off at the URL opera://settings/shaders, and make sure you're not using any adblock extensions at the URL opera://extensions that are getting detected by Youtube.

Then, goto the URL opera://settings/content/all, type youtube.com in the search field and click "Delete displayed data". Then, repeat for google.com. Then, goto the URL opera://settings/clearBrowserData and clear "Cached images and files" for all time. Then log back in to Google and Youtube. That should clear any adblocker detected nonsense.

As for performance on Youtube, in addition to the above, make sure graphics acceleration is enabled at the URL opera://settings/system, make sure you're not using any limiters in the GX Control sidebar panel and make sure the battery saver is disabled at the URL opera://settings/batterySaver.

Also, if needed, you can adjust the Angle flag for your GPU.

Also, sometimes issues on Youtube can be caused by GPU drivers. If you're using a gamer ready driver for example, try the stable/studio driver instead. Or, try the previous driver version.

Or, if you're happy with Edge, keep using it.

i am using Opera GX on windows 10

i am facing this problem from first time using two workspace and now i have multiple tab open in different workspace so it becomes very hard with ever restart of browser

open multiple tab in different workspace and close Opera GX and restart your computer/laptop and open Opera GX. some tabs from different workspace will come to main workspace.

I would guess that something is blocking the download from Google's servers. Can you install Chrome, close it, delete its WidevineCdm folder and then try to update its component to see if that's successful?

Since Opera GX already has an integrated ad blocker and supports custom filter lists, it would be great if YouTube Music ads could be blocked just as effectively as regular YouTube ads.

Please consider adding better support for YouTube Music specifically. It would make the built-in ad blocker much more useful.

I would like to suggest a quality-of-life feature for the bookmarks bar to improve customization and clean look.

Current Situation:
Right now, if we want a clean bookmark bar, we have to delete the bookmark's name entirely to keep only the icon. However, when we do this and hover over the icon, it only shows the long, messy URL instead of a clean name.

The Proposal:
Add a second name field in the "Edit Bookmark" (Editar favorito) window (for example: "Hover Name" or "Tooltip Name").

How it would work:

1. The user can leave the main "Name" field blank (so only the website icon appears on the bar).
2. The user types a short nickname in this new second field.
3. When hovering the mouse over the icon, this clean nickname appears as a small tooltip popup, instead of the full URL address.

Why this is useful:
It allows users to have a fully minimalist bookmarks bar (icons only) without losing the ability to easily identify what each icon is at a glance.

The youtube pop out feature is not working for me half the time and i have no clue why....
The button doesnt even show up on any video so i cant manually make a video pop out.
I took a break from opera for a few months and came back to this so im very confused about it....
Info that may be important:

yes i updated to the latest version
it happens randomly , sometimes it does pop out but most times it does not
im talking about any yt video not specifically shorts
i use opera gx on my HP laptop that is also updated!

Ah, classic Opera GX acting up! That usually happens when a browser extension messes with the video player or your cache gets cluttered. Try toggling your extensions off, clearing your cache, or double-checking that the video pop-out option is still turned on in your browser settings.

The entrance to the zone where you could claim the Opera GX rewards has suddenly disappeared.

The same thing has happened with the "Hitman" NPC; the spot where you could collect those rewards is gone.

I’m not sure exactly what’s going on. I don't think the Slap Battles event has ended, as the "Rewards" window still indicates it's available, and I have outstanding rewards that I’d like to claim. (Apologies for the language on screenshot)

Hello, don't worry, your data is 99% safe on Opera's servers. That red "Confirm your identity to enable encryption" button is a classic authorization loop that often happens after a clean Windows install when you log in via Google.
Try these 3 quick steps to fix it:

2.Clear cookies and cache: Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete, set the time range to "All time", check only cookies and cached images/files, and clear them. Leftover temp files can sometimes block Opera's verification scripts.

For example, when I hover over a window like a game shown as an example here with Opera GX open and just viewing a tab, it stops any animations from playing at all within the preview.

But if I have something like the GX control panel open (Without changing any settings within the panel), the window preview plays what is within said window and works completely as it should.

I haven't had this issue with any other apps at all and have checked my Windows settings, registry settings, and browser settings, but I can't seem to find any fix for this. If anyone knows anything that may help then it is much appreciated.

but now I just had an issue today where Opera GX was taking up 9GB on my iphone 13, when only using it for that, 6 tabs open, and a year or so of using it. So I had to uninstall and reinstall the Opera GX app. I find it ridiculous I have to do this fix to begin with.

Thought I should do an update, here. So here it is:

After reinstalling the Opera GX app on my iphone 13 and continuing to watch the pirate site episodes of the show I was watching, within TWO DAYS, of reinstalling and doing this, the opera GX app went back up to 8GB……..

Clearly that is not normal, and is insane.

I don’t know if it’s an issue with the website or the opera gx app or what but I’ve decided to stop using Opera GX and just go back to using safari, on my iphone, due to this issue.

Considering this is a really bad issue with opera gx, I will link the site. Literally all I did was just watch these episodes of the show, the site provided.

I don’t know if Opera GX was, like, downloading those episodes and keeping them stored, and that’s the reason for the insane app size, or what. But I hope the opera gx devs can fix this issue.

Either way, Safari does not have this issue, so I will just be watching stuff on it instead. I don’t plan on using Opera GX app at all after seeing there’s an insane cache overload issue. It holding onto 8GB of cache in 2 days.
