  Opera, Edge, Brave and Vivaldi - all of them use Chromium. The only alternative are Gecko based browsers, the most prominent of which is Firefox, and WebKit based ones like Apple‘s Safari.
  Obviously building a rendering engine can’t be done by one small independent company. Heck, even Microsoft gave in and uses Chromium. Which is an Open Source project that‘s led by Google.

  @screenTapper I don't know, what you consider as the "original" Opera browser.
  Opera is still Opera although it has changed and evolved over the years to become what it is now, for better or worse.
  Sill, some see the Vivaldi browser (vivaldi.com) as the "real" successor of what you might call the original Opera. It was developed by part of the team that left Opera Software in disagreement over the future course.
  So I'd say, that Opera is still the original Opera, but changed. Vivaldi is somehow something like a spiritual heir as it is more like the earlier Opera of the 00s and early 10s in design and layout, including a mail client.

  @fulltimemonti ayup. lol. I made the decision, however, that as much as I love Opera, its not there yet. So I use it as a novelty and keep GooglyMoogly as my default. It works out. If Opera acts silly I pick a fight with Aria (shes a dirty pirate hooker) and bail

  @Zor4n You would need to use an extension to save passwords on both browsers and the extension would need to allow you to store your data online.

  Sadly, I have already left. The invasive consent I had to agree to just to get back into this forum is proof enough. Opera has become chromium Spyware. Some might even accept such if the product was broadly functional but it no longer is. Obvious poor coding and deliberate corruption of the original framework has rendered Opera effectively defunct. I've moved on to Brave and Libre Wolf. I suggest ya'll do the same. Salude.
