Please explain for a dummy what the connection between Opera and Chrome is ? I see references to Chromium/Chrome which is Google right ? So how separate is Opera from the Google behemoth? Is it owned or managed by Google?
I have been using Opera for ever since the beginning but I'm not a coder//developer just an internet user. But I am wary of anything connected to Google.
Thanks

make Opera work with NordVPNSuggestions and feature requests
I have used opera as long as I can remember since the internet started ?
Now just because I choose to use an external VPN provider (Nord) Opera is useless, regardless of whether I am connected to the vpn, Opera either fails to connect to sites, or behaves erratically, has errors, won't show whole pages. It is ridiculous. I have stopped using Opera until this gets resolved. -
Can't connect when using NordVpnOpera for Windows
I have recently started using NordVpn , Opera VPN is fine but I use multiple devices, so an external VPN is needed.
But when I use Nord on my PC (Windows 11 ) , Opera fails to connect to any websites, regardless of whether Opera VPN is enabled or not. Nord provides split tunnelling so I have set a tunnel for Opera to bypass Nords servers but this makes no difference. The only way Opera works with Nord is to disconnect Nord from it's servers which kind of defeats the purpose?
