We don't support it in the catalog, but you can self-host the extension. When downloaded it gets installed as disabled, and must be manually enabled by the user.

Try checking the Error Console for any JavaScript errors, and the Extension Manager entry for the extension to see if it is disabled. I'm not sure what "switched the addon's settings" means.
We saw the report you made on the extension itself. I note that it was criticized for being a speed dial extension in the moderation process, but then added some Java-based functionality. So upgrading Java might actually be the thing to do here.
