  You can ask Chromium to incorporate Edge's changes in the PDF Viewer.

  You can goto the URL opera://settings/startPage and turn on speed dial, the search field and suggestions etc. so that you just see the wallpaper.

  Totally agree the white flash is back and painful; Opera really needs a setting to force a consistent default background color when loading or switching pages.
