If you can't find it, then how can Opera?

Typically there is a folder named "browser-plugins" somewhere. Mind you, Opera is based on Chromium so you need the PPAPI version of Flash, not the older NPAPI style.

Is Tahr-Puppy some derivative of Puppy Linux?

If it's the speed dial, just remove each news site individually and put in your own more conservative sites. If it's the news feature on the side panel you're probably better advised to just disable it. Again, add conservative sites to your speed dial and you should be good to go.

Go to https://github.com/iteufel/nwjs-ffmpeg-prebuilt/releases

Download the latest codec. Extract it to your install folder (/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera for me)

No idea what can it be, but I can confirm it happens here as well.
Debian testing x64, native installation (= not on a virtual machine), opera 58.0.3135.68 and more info can be given upon request.

Sync started to work again.
Must have been something on Opera's sync servers.
But I really didn't like how the browser crashed.
Luckily, I will have my bookmarks backup safely stored now.

Someone on the RV'ing forum where I'd also posted this query asked if I'd deleted my browers history. I had not. Cookies and cache yes, history no.

When I cleared the history, I can now access the single link at the forum I'm interested in. No more redirecting.

I think opera should include a switch like this one.

chromium --temp-profile

Self explanatory I guess and a life saver in situations like this one. The only thing you have to do before running it is to close any chromium instance that is running.

Yes I did that and was very nervous and didnt see there are the same files inside although the path was named different. Now when I compared them I replaced everything and all my settings came through. Thank you very much for the help. I just love Opera and using it more than 10 years now. Best browser for me. Love it that I can use it in Linux too. 🙂
