I don't even have this setting option and when playing several games my pages all have to be reloaded every time
I switch off of them, A lot of the time opera just sits there real dumb until I click on refresh which loses my progress if I'm in the middle of a game.. Clicking on disable button does nothing for that tab either. Just my opinion this a badly implemented unwanted feature. let me know when this feature is controllable and I sure don't think I will like this feature either -(New] Hot Tabs Killer – slash tabs that use too much RAM or CPU. Killing my tabs because of memory really should be a non issue at this point in our tech.
@nvmjustagirl I cannot understand why, but this actually worked for me. I reset, with a relaunch after selection to off and again after setting to on, and it just worked.
I am actually amazed that it worked...
There were some bugs in the 19xx versions of Windows 10 that could cause these issues in Opera and other Chromium-based browsers, especially when restarting Windows. That's all fixed now in 20H2 and newer. I would definitely update Windows to the newest. There's also a new, big update coming this month.
@neilf784 You don't need to login to update Opera.
When you go to opera://about or opera://update, Opera automatically checks for updates and downloads it if there is one. Unfortunately, the process eventually doesn't work well and you need to click on the check for updates button to get the update.
