@leocg For the record. that's actually kind of smart of them. It saves you the work of having to set up the password manager for every website you already have an account for.
I had already imported all my passwords from Chrome and been using Opera for over a year before I turned on Opera Sync so I could migrate to a new computer. Yeah very smart of them to overwrite my passwords with passwords from god knows where that were old.
It's been bothering me for a long time, I've reported it several times and no result. I downgraded to an older version and blocked updates to get rid of this problem.
Thank you very much for replying. This fault has taken many hours to fix but it has now been fixed, I do not understand how, have powered down and up, reset everything and tried different trouble shooters and now it is working, no idea what cured it. I believe it was an Epson fault but not certain,
