Everything is working good on Opera version 30.0.1835.59. My suggestion is to update your browser and check if Adobe Flash Player is up to date (version 18.0.0.160).
Is the website that you are going to using flash? For example, YouTube uses HTML5 for its videos and that doesn't need a plugin so the 'click to play' option does not effect it.
Click to play in settings only works on plugins. If you have YouTube set to feed you the HTML5 version of the website then it wont use the Flash plugin for the video and Opera wont be able to block it. Either switch back to using the Flash version of YouTube or download an extension for Opera such as Magic Actions for YouTube or some such.
When you create a bookmark from the heart menu you can pick the thumbnail at the time of creation. So you will also be able to set whether it is a bookmark or a speed dial entry from the heart menu. If you use another method to create a bookmark or speed dial entry, such as the right click menu, you cannot pick the thumbnail. You can edit it later view the heart menu if you wish.
People've been talking about adjusting the path in your launch "button" - the icon on your desktop, for example. They said it'll prevent the browser from checking for updates as well, if I understood all right.
That way, you could have another, not modified icon-launcher - in case/when you need to check for updates.
It is a workaround as well, but at least you could have options...
