Well, I later found out that it makes youtube extremely laggy when scrolling down to comments, or even at the main page that there is no player... I only used the wheel volume feature, everything else was turned off.

RE: Turn Off the LightsOpera add-ons
Thank you, I was searching for youtube mouse wheel volume and yours works like a charm! Eventually I will explore the rest features!

RE: uBlock OriginOpera add-ons
@gorhill There was no need for reporting the filters, I never said I had problems, it was just a matter of adjusting the settings, managing exceptions, adding more filters, removing some, etc., so everything becomes tailor-made to my usage...

RE: [Solved]Bring back the "Recently closed" button on the top bar on the rightSuggestions and feature requests
@seroko111 no, it's definitelly not the same for sure.

RE: [Solved]Bring back the "Recently closed" button on the top bar on the rightSuggestions and feature requests
@seroko111 in opera 71, it came back. There is a "show more" under the 3 closed tabs and it gives about 25 closed items. Maybe you need to change the flag opera://flags/#search-in-closed-tabs

RE: [Solved]Bring back the "Recently closed" button on the top bar on the rightSuggestions and feature requests
Ok, I will not complain any more since the "basic" functionality came back. By "basic", I mean we can now find closed tabs. Having said that, I would like to point out a few suggestions for this basic functionality to become actually functional and efficient instead of just existing for the purpose of existing....
-
- Ability to middle click a closed tab on the list so it opens in a new tab.
-
- Ability to be able to open many closed tabs without having to go back and forth to the button, then the list, then the button again and so on and so forth, in combination with he point No.1
-
- Ability to have the "show more" always expanded, so when we need to open more than one closed tabs we don't have to go to the button, then show more, then click on the closed tab, then back to the button, back to the show more, back to the closed tab and so on and so forth.... That is 6 clicks to open just two tabs... Not to mention the travel distance from the button to the middle of the screen, especially in high resolutions/wide monitors...
-
- Ability to have either closed tabs or open tabs always expanded or retracted, depending on each user's needs.
-
- Move the popup on the side, closer to the button, so we don't need to go back and forth from the top right corner to the middle of the screen, as described in point No.3. That is very useful in higher resolutions / wider monitors.
-
- Ability to remove tabs from the closed list with an X button on the right, so that we can remove tabs we don't need any more...
The above points will make this feature efficient, so there is not constant clicks and meters of mouse movement just to open a few closed tabs, and although it seems like not so important, in the long run they add up and start consuming a lot of otherwise valuable time, unnecessary clicks, unnecessary hand and mouse movement, shorter mouse life, finger/wrist fatigue etc...

RE: uBlock OriginOpera add-ons
@gorhill I had different experience where I could not open elements on many sites after installing uBO, so I had to set-up various exeptions etc... It works right out of the box in most sites but not everywhere and for everyone

RE: uBlock OriginOpera add-ons
@joshuaopera it's probably one of the best ad-blockers, fully customizable. It's just not plug n'play. You can Either check the setting of it and customize it to your liking, or get a simpler adblocker that will suit your needs.
But saying it is bad because you can't operate it is like a 70 year old saying a Ferrari is a bad car because it's difficult to get in and out of it, noisy and not a lot of space for groceries.... Everything has it's use case... -
RE: [Solved]Bring back the "Recently closed" button on the top bar on the rightSuggestions and feature requests
@airforce25228 I think search in tabs could be useful to people that open a lot of tabs and use the recently closed tabs, and this without the annoying list of the tabs we can already see just above. The list is only useful as you said, to people that have a gazillion open tabs. And probably those people want closed tabs back!
In a sense "search in open tabs" is useless to the people they try to appeal to. They only manage to make a worse experience to the rest...
It's a nice-to-have feature only if other things don't get demoted because of that...

RE: [Solved]Bring back the "Recently closed" button on the top bar on the rightSuggestions and feature requests
Only 3 closed tabs is terrible. I find my self repeating searches again and again and again, to find a page I closed 5 tabs ago, maybe willingly, maybe by accident...
Also... You go to the top right, you click, then you have to go back to the center, click again. On large screens, this is distracting and time consuming, and yeah in the long run...
I know you will not put it back on the top right, but PLEASE!!! Do at least 10 if not 20 closed tabs, and if you don' want to be like that by defaut, introduce a setting... Or even a flag... Something...
The history is there already, you just chose to not show it...Also... Please allow middle click to open multiple closed tabs in new window, to avoid clicking the button, opening a tab, clicking the button again, opening the next tab and so on...
It seems you made real effort to make things as unproductive as possible... Why???

RE: [Solved]Bring back the "Recently closed" button on the top bar on the rightSuggestions and feature requests
@ericartman92 Exactly! I don't want to switch to Vivaldi or any Vivaldi. Especially after I "endured" that long ordeal of the change from Presto to Chromium until Opera became functional and unique again. I just don't want favorite and extremely helpful features gone.

RE: Where is the "Recently closed tabs/Tab menu" button on the top right?Opera for computers
It has been a few days for me since the change to limit closed tabs to just 3, and it has been a browser changing experience...
It is worse than the change from Presto to Chromium. That at least, was a change, this is pure depreciation of features, both useful and (almost) unique.Suddenly I find my self having to change a lot to my daily interaction with the web, both personal and at work, or simply repeat things that 2 days ago were just a click of a button.
Somewhere in the twin threads of "Where is" and "Bring Back" the recently closed tabs, someone mentioned that Opera 71 will change this back to somewhat better than just 3 tabs. Hopefully, otherwise, it's going to be a break up from Opera which I have been using since it was a payed software...

RE: [Solved]Bring back the "Recently closed" button on the top bar on the rightSuggestions and feature requests
That is unbelievable! The change from 12 to the new Opera was terrible, but started adding features back and slowly slowly became ok again, and now they strike back... As if you see what your users want and you do the opposite, just to get us!
A suggestion to Opera developers: Limit the opened tabs to 3! We don't need more. Oh, and limit the amount of history to 3 as well, remove the speed dial or limit the speed dial entries to 3. See? Great improvements, don't you think? You just made Opera worse... Again...

RE: Magic Actions for YouTubeâ„¢Opera add-ons
@fallcon I haven't used it since I use old youtube with tampermonkey and I don't have this particular problem, but as I understand, you have to make your bookmarks bar visible from the sidebar settings (if you have it hidden), then grab the button and drug in on the bookmarks bar. Opera will ask you for a name, and you can just save it as it is. Then, while on Youtube, press that bookmark.

RE: Magic Actions for YouTubeâ„¢Opera add-ons
@danomajster press the options gear on the bar and they mention a fix for this problem in that page. Here it is as well https://www.mycinema.pro/options.html

RE: Magic Actions for YouTubeâ„¢Opera add-ons
I see a lot of posts stating that it doesn't offer what youtube already offers... That is so not true! Volume change with scroll wheel? Nope, youtube doesn't have that. Auto quality of video? Not as well. And other things that I am too bored to mention right now.
Also, it may crush in some people, but like most software, it doesn't do the same to all of us though, so saying that it sucks, is your opinion based on your experience, but, my opinion based on my experience is that it really is a must! At least for me!I have been using this some years now, and even with the new forced youtube layout, I can still use the scroll wheel volume feature. That is before I found a new way to change to old youtube once more...

RE: Opera Browser Assistant?Opera for Windows
Just to help out, here what Opera says about Assistant, copied from https://www.opera.com/privacy that @burnout426 posted above.
Browser Assistant. Your copy of Opera for computers may include a component that displays desktop notifications promoting the browser’s features. It checks if any notifications are pending on a scheduled basis and may anonymously report occurrence of certain system events (namely low battery, low hard disk space, new Wi-Fi network connected, another browser installed). This information is not collected by us and no personal information is sent.
So, yes, it seems to be privacy violation. I always choose to NOT send any data and statistics during Opera installation, but it seems Opera Assistant does not respect this option anyway...
As they say, it reports some system events but information is not collected by Opera? Then who collects this information that Assistant reports? -
RE: Opera Browser Assistant?Opera for Windows
So, what we know so far is that Opera assistant gets installed with Opera, and not necessarily with a bundled setup as mentioned above, in my case at least it's from the offline installer of version 67.xx which I downloaded 5 days ago from opera.com after installing fresh windows.
It adds a startup entry.
A Registry entry for the startup HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StartupApproved\Run32.
It ads a folder named assistant in the install directory.
It adds a schedule in Task Scheduler, which is probably for updating it self, if I judge from the arguments of the entry. So, what does it do apart from updating itself? What is it's functionality? As it seems, it's not necessary for Opera to function correctly.

RE: Where is the "Recently closed tabs/Tab menu" button on the top right?Opera for computers
@Nakanaki07 As they mentioned above, go to the URL opera://flags/#search-in-open-tabs, disable the flag, and restart Opera.
The old Closed Tabs icon will reapear.
