I accept that I can't delete the 'z' quicksearch shortcut due to Amazon payments to opera, but can I at least be redirected to the Amazon website available in my country? Or better: choose which Amazon I want to use? No use in redirecting me to Amazon.com if I live in Germany.

After following this advice I unpinned the new sidebar and closed the browser (Opera Beta).
Now I cannot start it anymore. It just pops up for a few milliseconds with a white screen and closes. Then the process repeats 4 times.
How can I resolve this problem without deleting my "Preferences" file? I don't want to go through all the hassle of setting up the extensions etc. Where can I find what causes the crash?
But I want to use them!

When I started Opera today it told me that it blocked the add-on "XTranslate" for safety reason
Whenever I open a second window, then close the first one, all my tabs from the first one are lost.
I have lost quite a few links through that already.
I have the habit of 'sticking' tabs that I want to read later. I also open a lot of tabs and then keep the computer running for days (with hybernation inbetween). When I now close the first window, all of them are gone and I also can't restore them with the "recently closed" button nor can I recover them using the history.
Would it be possible to implement a feature that saves closed window sessions?
I am a passionate Duolingo-user, but unfortunately Duolingo still does not work with Opera. In particular the microphone input just does not start. I have to use Chrome for that.
From Opera 15 onwards I was hoping that it would finally be fixed, but unfortunately nothing has changed yet. In earlier versions it seemed to have been a Flash-issue (something connected to using PPAPI?) but recently not even the Flash input starts.
Is it just me or does the website https://tinyurl.com/ leave Opera 37 unresponsive for a few seconds?
I experience one problem,
Since I upgraded to Windows 10, every time I snap an Opera window to the left or right of the screen, the GUI does not update anymore.
As soon as I 'unsnap', that means that I manually resize the window, Opera continues to work.
Opera does not seem to freeze entirely, everything that I click get's executed, but not displayed. I can see the results of my clicking after I unsnap.
How do I fix this? I already set the GPU-flag to disabled, but it didn't change anything
Please bring back the 'Open' option for downloads!
If you decided that it is easier for some users not having to choose between 'save' and 'open', then make it at least a FLAGS-option or alike.
I often have to shortly view a DOC or PDF file and unfortunately it is not possible to just open it, even the Adobe-Plugin asks me to first save it and then displays it in the browser. Which leaves my download folder cluttered with many files.
Often they are having cryptic names so whenever I have to clean my download folder I have to open all files before deleting to determing whether I still need them. This is really unnecessary.
for costumized mouse gestures I use "Download Chrome Extension" and "Smooth Gestures" for Chrome.
It's a work-around but it does the trick.
for most of the other things you will also find extensions to make them work again.
I'm on opera 23 and with quite some extensions it's almost like opera 12
have you tried accessing it in a private tab?

@skjern yeah, that's cool and all, but you're using extra RAM things that should be included by default.
Yes, that is true, in my case it is ~10mb of extra RAM usage. I guess my computer can take that 
Personally I refuse to install extensions for things I just need one functionality - in my case that's "reopen closed tab". Now I have to go to Menu > Recently Closed tabs, which are three clicks + moving the mouse all across the screen, where before it was just right click, gesture, release.
for me it was also that functionality that was missing, and the addon does the trick.
this is indeed weird and doesn't happen to me.
it sounds like opera would not be linked correctly there?
have you tried detaching it, then starting opera 21 and attaching it again?

middle clicking on links doesn't seem to open them in background anymore! 
I'm guessing that you still use Opera 12?
I myself had similar problems, in the end I was so annoyed, that I updated to Opera Next and gave it a try.
With the help of many extensions, it comes close to Opera 12, but running fast and smoothly on all websites.

I often liked to scroll with a middle mouse click (to enable scroll).
In opera 12 it was possible to scroll very smoothly.
Is there any settings or (chrome) extension to set my scroll speed to a slower rate?
Because when I middle-mouse-click then it starts quite abrupt.
And NO: I am not talking about smooth scrolling or anything like that!

I solved it as following:
I am using Opera Next,
I found a workaround for the minimize thing:
I installed "Download Chrome Extension" and then the Chrome extension "Smooth Gestures". I disabled Opera mouse gestures and set my costum ones in "Smooth Gestures". In addition I installed 'Tab Position Options' and set it to 'last active tab'.
Now everything works as before
