@4troses I've partially solved this by 'starring' https://sync.opera.com/ so it shows up on the New Tab page, under the Top Sites. This gives you one-direction access to your existing bookmarks (i.e. you can't edit them in any way), but it's better than nothing. Only works if your synced data is not protected by an additional sync passphrase...

Google Search ads are not blockedOpera for Android
Hello. I've noticed that ads in Google Search results are not blocked in my Opera for Android, even though the adblocker is on and appears to function well elsewhere. Is this a bug or a deliberate internal whitelisting? No websites are whitelisted in the adblocker settings.
Details:
- Android version: 11
- Phone: Google Pixel 3a
- Opera version: 61.2.3076.56749
- URL: https://www.google.co.uk/m?q=buy+tyres&client=ms-opera-mobile&channel=new&espv=1
- Adblocker enabled
- Data savings disabled
- Steps to reproduce: Set Google as your search engine and search for 'buy tyres' (or any other obvious search terms looking to purchase something).
- Expected behaviour: No Goole Search ads should be shown.
- Actual behaviour: All Google Search ads are shown, both at the top and at the bottom of the page. Interestingly, no Bing ads are shown when searching for the same terms.

RE: Addons "Cashback Web Monitor"Opera for computers
@leocg Does the flag opera://flags/#cashback not disable this extension? It's disabled by default in my version, but that could be dependent on location.

RE: Extension Manifest v3 - Should we worry for Opera extensions' future?Opera add-ons
@leocg Thanks for responding to one of my questions. However, I am even more curious to know what would happen to Opera's handling of other ad-blocking extensions (other than the built-in adblocker) - is Opera providing any feedback on this proposed plan? If it goes through as currently drafted, will Opera handle extensions (and limit their functionality) as per the manifest or would it retain a backwards compatibility mode? I know it's early days, but this is an important matter close to many users' hearts.

RE: Opera Touch vs Opera Mobile. The missing key stoneOpera Browser
@ultravio1et I know it's a bit of a hassle, but you can get to your bookmarks (read-only) by 'starring' https://sync.opera.com/
This will give you a direct link from the new tab page to your bookmarks, but you won't be able to edit them in any way.

RE: The Opera browser for Android hit a new record of 80 million MAUs during Q4-2020Blogs
Thanks Stefan and thanks to the Opera mobile devs. One gripe: it would be nice if you could follow the main Chromium version in Opera for Android, instead of being one version behind... Do you backport security fixes from Chromium 88 into the current Opera 62 (which is at Chromium 87)?

Extension Manifest v3 - Should we worry for Opera extensions' future?Opera add-ons
https://www.ghacks.net/2019/01/22/chrome-extension-manifest-v3-could-end-ublock-origin-for-chrome/
Google has published a draft manifest for what Chrome/Chromium extensions can and cannot do in the future. Although this is not yet finalised, quite a few concerns have been raised by adblocker developers - not least gorhill himself - about how this could effectively kill adblocking as we know it.
Some initial questions, then:
- Will Opera - as a Chromium derivative - be required to follow this manifest if finalised?
- Are Opera's devs involved in the discussion around the proposed changes, and if so, what's Opera's position?
- Should this manifest be finalised, would Opera be able to circumvent the changes (e.g. by allowing the previous extension capabilities for all extensions hosted in the Opera Store)?
- Will Opera's built-in adblocking capability be affected in any way by the proposed changes?
All of this is quite worrying for users' ability to control what and how they browser. It would be interesting to have people's thoughts on this subject...

Crash when selecting 'Open in Touch' via Share menuOpera Browser
I couldn't find anywhere in the stable iOS app to report bugs/crashes, so am posting it here.
Version: 1.6.0 (Stable, not Testflight beta)
Description: Opera Touch crashes consistently on iOS 12.2 whenever 'Share' >> 'Open in Touch' is selected for any URL in other apps. I think Opera Touch crashes somewhere in the process of something, because a 'ghost window' flashes very quickly after 'Open in Touch' is tapped, but then this disappears and I remain in the originating app.I have captured a screenshot of this Opera Touch 'ghost screen':

RE: Opera 74.0.3911.203 Stable updateBlogs
@rastanz According to the various Reddit discussions it's a broken internal extension, which should be receiving a silent update to fix this. I don't really have any further details.

Yet the adblocker is worthless, for all your billion downloads.
