The wallpaper transparency option in Opera depends on the version of Opera you're using and whether your system supports transparency effects. On some devices (especially lower-spec or older systems), this feature may not appear.
To check, go to Easy Setup (top-right corner of Opera) → scroll down to Wallpaper → see if the “Use transparent wallpaper” toggle is available. If it’s missing, make sure you’re on the latest version of Opera, and try enabling transparency effects in your Windows display settings too (especially if you’re on Windows 10 or 11). I’ve been a loyal Opera user for years, but the recent removal of the “Show news” toggle in the Stable version feels like a step backwards. Now, with only the “Show selected content” option, it’s Opera picking what shows up in my feed—not me. Meanwhile, both the Beta and Developer versions still allow full customization, which makes this limitation in Stable even more frustrating.
For those of us who care about the content we consume, this change strips away the sense of control that made Opera feel user-focused. It’s like being handed a preset playlist when all you want is to pick your own songs. The charm of Opera has always been its flexibility, and this change chips away at that.

After enjoying Opera again for a month, I’ve run into the same frustrating issue that made me switch browsers years ago: Flow won't sync properly. Despite having four devices—two running Windows 10, one on Windows 11, and an Android 14 phone—Flow stopped syncing between them. Changes on one device no longer reflect on the others, and attempts to reconnect using QR codes or login prompts consistently fail. The process stalls at the verification stage, eventually forcing me to log out without success, even after resets and reinstalls.
It's incredibly disappointing because Opera, in my opinion, offers the best browsing experience overall. However, this persistent, well-documented Flow sync bug ruins that experience. It’s baffling that such a major feature remains unreliable after all this time. Until there’s a definitive fix, I have no choice but to switch back to another browser, despite wanting to stay with Opera.

I totally get how frustrating that can be — I’ve run into the same issue myself, and it really messes with the flow (no pun intended) when the page doesn’t update properly. When I delete or send something, I expect it to reflect right away, not sit there like nothing happened.
From what I’ve seen, a refresh sometimes helps, but it’s annoying to have to do that manually every time. It feels like the app isn’t syncing in real time the way it should. I hope they roll out a fix soon because this definitely interrupts the experience.
