Yes, this behaviour was reported already. Have you enabled Synching of Speedial in version 28 by any chance?
You have to wait for v29, there it seems to be fixed. Or you can download the version 29 Beta.

RE: Speed Dial Opera 28.0Opera for Mac
You can update it only manually vial bookmarks and copy past to the appropriate device in speed dial settings. Read the forum, there was already plenty of discussion about this topic. You have to wait till v29 for proper function, if you can't wait, download Opera 29 Beta (or Next).

RE: Disable four finger swipe?Opera for Mac
OSX version?
What happens if you change the gestures in the trackpad settings? Are you talking about built-in-Mac/Apple trackpad?
I didn't even know Opera would support 4 finger gestures. It's only mouse gestures that are supported. AFAIK only way to get trackpad gestures really working in Opera is using tools like BetterTouchTool. Maybe check that if you have it how it's setup and if you don't have it, install it and set the 4 finger swipe to something else and see what happens. -
RE: Opera 28 on Mac - crashes when typing name of a speed dial item in search/address boxOpera for Mac
... of course when it crashes it mostly disables all my extension, so I have to go to re-enable them. That's probably a good measure if extension is cause for the prolem, but it shouldn't disable extensions if the problem is related to something within the core of the application such as Speeddial in this case.

Opera on iOS Speed Dial - has cool feature on the keyboard used for editing Speed Dial itemsOpera Mini
When you open Speed Dial item to Edit it on Opera iOS, you can notice a really cool feature on the keyboard, top middle, there is a toggle, when you touch toggle, the toggle becomes a slider and you can use that to move the cursor.
This is something Apple and Android should have implemented ages ago, I am not really fond of using the touch screen to move the cursor precisely in the location I want to edit, although, I have to admit iOS is way better with the bubble than Android using the sliders.
I am wondering how new Blackberry works, but from my understanding you can just slide your finger through the keys on the keyboard to get where you want, which is even better.
Opera's approach is a compromise but much easier to use than iOS and Android. I haven't seen anything like this before, I just liked it and found it very useful, so I decided to share.

RE: Speed-Dial included in SyncronizationSynchronization
Correction:
Opera 28 does sync with Opera Mini on iOS. In the speed dial section of the bookmarks you need to copy to bookmarks from one device (e.g. shown as your desktop folder in bookmarks) to the mobile (shown as mobile phone Opera folder). It didn't work the first time but it works now, it least for one time sync, I didn't try how it works for adding or removing items but it's not quite reliable yet on Opera 28 so I don't recommend using it. -
RE: Speed-Dial included in SyncronizationSynchronization
And I do not recommend to use sync for Speed dial in version 28 if you are adding and removing items in your Speed dial on an ongoing basis, there is a good chance it causes a mess.
Version 28 doesn't sync with Opera Mini for iOS. I haven't had a chance to test v. 29 beta.

Opera 28 on Mac - crashes when typing name of a speed dial item in search/address boxOpera for Mac
Opera 28 on Mac - crashes when typing name of a speed dial item in search/address box
When typing name of an item I have in speed dial, Opera will crash after typing second letter.
I'm typing into the regular "Search or enter an address" box just right under the tabs and left from the navigation icons.
When typing anything else in the box (anything that is not already a name of an item I have in my Speed dial", Opera doesn't crash and all is fine.
This happens all the time and only when typing in that box. e.g. it doesn't happen when I type into the Google search box of Speed dial page just above the Speed dial tiles.
Thanks.

RE: Opera Link still not working or am i too ....Synchronization
They are working on this, so don't be so childish all of you who complain. If you don't want to wait go to Google or Firefox, your choice. Nobody is holding you off. In fact, don't even waste the time to mess the forums here with expressing your frustration. Just go, why you even bother to come here and threaten to leave. You are free to go. You sound like wainy trolls.

http://blogs.opera.com/desktop/2014/09/bookmarks-arrive-opera-beta-25/
They are reworking the whole thing.
Not just bringing bookmarks back, which less and less people use nowadays. I stopped using bookmarks 2 years ago because it was terrible mess. I don't need bookmarks if I can google things or simply copy text to Evernote. From that point of view it makes absolute sense what Opera is doing and I applaud them because it's the right direction to go.So instead of bitching and waining, take a trip to another browser and if you like you can come back. Cheers.
By the way - Opera is probably short of cash. My only concern is how they are going to finance everything. Google is main income but with the market share of mobile phones diminished (Fall of Nokia phones and web-capable feature phones), Opera has less choices. So move to Android was necessary, at least it's not too late. If they haven't made the big step they would have already closed down the shop the same way Nokia did (almost, without Microsoft rescue injection).
Opera works great and I wouldn't switch to Chrome by no means:
- Privacy
- Speed
- Customizability and Tools

RE: Opera 21 CPU at 100%Opera for Mac
Opera 20 stable and Opera 21 Next are getting even worse with regards to CPU resource usage and memory as well. After 2 hours browsing, I have easily 50-70 processes running called "OPERA HELPER".
Each of these (could be as many as 50-70) are gobbling up 20-100 mb of memory. I have 4GB memory on laptop but I easily run out of memory because of Opera.
The CPU is constantly on 80% or above, at times hitting 100% on both cores of the dual core processor.
The thing which really sucked about Opera pre-Chrome version was CPU and resource usage. Now it seems the problems returned in another form. I don't know what is Opera doing about this issue. It makes things insane to the point I want to stop using the browser, if it wasn't for over 15 years I am with Opera.
I believe the focus should be on making the browser resource efficient and not the try to catch up with whatever Chrome/Chromium comes with.
Efficiency was always Opera's strength till about Opera 11 or 12 release when the team started to fool around with Unite and then things started to go downwards.
Why would I use a Clone of Chromium if I can have Chromium.
EFFICIENCY and SWIFTNESS are the keys for me if I continue using Opera or not.
Thanks.

RE: Extension Toolbar icon: limits and sortingOpera for Mac
Thank you. I suggest making it similar as in Chrome, resizable icon toolbar. If you could improve on that would be even better, perhaps, adding autohide second row icon toolbar, or scrollable icon toolbar when doing double finger gesture (or mouse scrolling), or maybe like Windows, set certain icons to show only when there are notifications

RE: Sad to be saying goodbyeOpera for Windows
I have been loyal user of Opera longer than you guys relative newbies, and I don't bitch around. I used opera since version 1.0xx something way before it at introduced tabs. I remember the humbly beginnings about 17 years ago.
And despite of that I cheer opera's decision and I support it.
I still think Opera development team is the best and now combining the best tools can produce the best browser.
Yeh - just fight against the current - the world is moving into one of the directions, and that is nothing really that Opera can do about. They soon realize the revenue from Google searches would disappear with the number of users around the world replacing feature phones running opera mini with smart phones running Android.
Today it's not about staying miserable by preaching standards if nobody follows them anyways, so what's the point of Opera to follow standards that nobody does?
I believe Opera has en excellent chance to become defacto default browser on Android devices. I don't like Chromo browser, the interface sucks but Opera brings the classic interface while investing in the future. They are adding a lot of things, there is here and there many things missing, Opera Link, odd download page, extensions, deep configuration tooo limited.
But I trust Opera team wants to do more than just copy Chrome, there are plenty that already do it.
By the way - since I used Mac OSX couple of years now, I wasn't able to run Opera without CPU running close to 80%.
That is completely resolved with new Opera Chrome. There are tens of thousands of Mac users who had issues about the CPU usage in the old Opera.
As for as Firefox goes - go ahead. Nobody is preventing you to go to Firefox, but you will get what you get. I still see Opera superior to Firefox even with many things now missing.
Cheers.
