@leocg because:
a) it is annoying as hell
b) it covers content
c) the number of times I want to login with Google is 1 out of 10million
d) It requires the user to take action to cover the popup
e) I'd rather have opera issue viagra popups....atleast it might be something useful.

Blocking Google Signup Popup?Suggestions and feature requests
I see DuckDuckGo will block Google's 'Invasive, Annoying' Sign-In Popups
https://twitter.com/DuckDuckGo/status/1605919034150617091Any chance Opera can do that?

RE: Opera Browser is owned by a Chinese companyLounge
@kanikavatsyayan Well, that is pretty dumb to ask for the same info that is freely available on Wikipedia.
Opera is traded as OPRA on Nasdaq. You can look at the last financials here: https://www.nasdaq.com/press-release/opera-limited-announces-second-quarter-2021-financial-results-revenue-growth-exceeds

RE: Opera Browser is owned by a Chinese companyLounge
I would like to know if anyone anywhere has ever found any privacy violation by Opera?
- tracking user urls?
- tracking user searches?
- sending any private data (other than required by Sync and News services enabled by the user)
- tracking other than telemetry crash data.
It just seems so disingenuous for anyone to attack Opera with Zero evidence.
Opera has more competitors now than it did 10 years ago. There are a dozen competing browsers out there now. That is a dozen companies with proactive social media people to spread FUD.

RE: [Solved] Speed dial spamOpera for Windows
Reinstalled - reconfigured - finally went away.
All though speed dials still don't sync

[Solved] Speed dial spamOpera for Windows
any way to turn off the speed dial spam that has shown up in the latest release?
Even if you click 'don't show again', it comes right back on next speed dial preview.

RE: Sync same Speed Dial on every deviceSuggestions and feature requests
My solution is to run the portable version of Opera and just dump the whole thing in Dropbox. Works great on fast fiber connection, but when I am the road on public wifi, it's pretty slow. I tried moving the cache outside of Dropbox, but it then i have to login to opera sync account every time I switch computers (apparently session credentials are stored in the cache).
It's a kludge, but, it syncs speed dial bookmarks - that makes me happy.

RE: Sync same Speed Dial on every deviceSuggestions and feature requests
@ploink Ya, speed dial should just start as the root of bookmarks.
-
RE: Sync same Speed Dial on every deviceSuggestions and feature requests
@maxdule Yes, I rarely use other bookmarks other than speed dial folders. If you visit a site you want to visit later, but don't need it forever - SpeedDial is the way to go every time. The only way to keep them in sync with opera is to constantly edit your bookmarks 'other dials' folder.
To differentiate between speed dials and bookmarks is kinda silly.

RE: Sync same Speed Dial on every deviceSuggestions and feature requests
- 2 work boxes
- 2 laptops
- one home machine
- a phone,
- a tablet.
It takes quite awhile to copy bookmarks. (especially since you have to stop and figure out which is the current one - then which is the right computer). If you spend 10 mins a day trying to keep bookmarks in sync, that is a hour a week, 52 hours a year, 520 hrs in a decade. That is 21 days every 10 years you will spend doing nothing but fixing Opera's mess.
Ya, it is time we had Speed Dial Sync. The backup to "other dials" is nice, but a modern browser without sync is sad.

RE: Speed Dial Sync Fixed Yet?Opera for Windows
It's by design. Not everyone wants to have the same speed dial on all computers.
Which is cool because Opera has ALWAYS been about user choice. So give us the choice.
You can make a request or, even better,
show your support in one of the already existing topics about it.Apparently those channels are turned off because we've been waiting for this simple option for many years...

RE: Speed Dial Sync Fixed Yet?Opera for Windows
That is the issue, Speed Dials don't sync (they get copied to a another bookmark folder).
We want the option to sync them.
I just don't get why they wouldn't give us the option. I mean, I don't begrudge them earning cash from the speed dial suggestion ads, but there should be the option to sync speed dials. It doesn't make sense not too.

Speed Dial Sync Fixed Yet?Opera for Windows
I was thinking about trying Opera again. Has the speed dial not mirroring issue been fixed yet? (I have 7 main machines - last thing I want to do is manage bookmarks 50 times a day)
