The plot thickens, it failed to start again as soon as it had wifi (I had mobile data off the whole time too). It's as if it crashes when it tried to restore the last session. Any way I can prevent it? Restarting the phone didn't help either. It's also now happened with Opera Mini, but recovers better, and only appears to kill the tab that crashed (Amazon and ebay on separate occasions). However, it only crashes with Mini when I'm in turbo mode, not extreme mode. So then, there appears to be an issue with opera turbo and either android 4.4.4 or Samgsung's version of it. I'm guessing by the lack of other people with the issue, it'll be turbo and Samsung. For now I'm using mini on extreme mode.

I'd like a tab feature from...IE!Suggestions and feature requests
Hello, I'm using IE11 at work mostly due to the security policy, and while most of the features of opera are superior, one of IE's tab features is really useful. When you start closing tabs, it changes the size of the next tab to keep the close button under your mouse. This means you can quickly close tab after tab just my moving to the open tab's close button and clicking each time. Whatever tab is open in front of you will close with each click, without having to move the mouse in-between! It's a small feature, but one that I miss when using opera. Thanks.

RE: Opera 34 for Android released!Opera for Android
I'm also having crash problems, but I got a new phone for Christmas and don't know where the problem lies. Running the latest stable Opera for Android, on a Samsung S5 mini (v4.4.4). On opening opera I get the message 'Unfortunately Opera has stopped' and the option of sending a report, which I've done twice now but not sure where it goes. Most of teh time it is fine, but once it happens it will do it over and over. Clearing the cashe/ram doesn't fix it. The first time I had to re-install to fix, the second time it managed to recover on it's own somehow (but I had lost the wifi connection, so maybe the fact it couldn't restore itself made it work..?). No other apps are crashing like this, including opera mini.
As a side note, having re-installed it, it treated my sync as a new entity instead of just picking up where it left off (I had to add all speed-dials again, and delete the old entry). Would be nice it knew it was the same install on the same phone and restore everything.

RE: Customizable speed dial thumbnailsSuggestions and feature requests
Found my own work-around, that's working in V32 (my work install doesn't update automatically, presumably a network issue).
Go the website using the speed-dial link, click the heart and choose a new picture. It will update the speed-dial accordingly. Would still be nice to just right-click and edit, but at least there is a way around without deleting all of them and starting again.

Desktop features on MobileSuggestions and feature requests
Hi,
I use opera across all my devices: Win7 PC, Android mobile, and ipad.
The desktop version offers some good security/privacy features that are not replicated on Mini or Mobile for either mobile OS. I think these would be very useful on the mobile clients:
- Block third-party cookies. Mobile versions only have the option to block or accept all cookies.
- Tap to Play (like Click to Play) to prevent unwanted flash videos loading and killing bandwidth.
Others may want more than that, but think these two would be a good start.
Thanks.

RE: Customizable speed dial thumbnailsSuggestions and feature requests
Hello, using opera 33, still doesn't have this option..
My desktop opera install still has page thumbnails, from when it did that automatically. My laptop was installed more recently, and defaulted to logos. Now opera lets me choose what I want when I add them (perfect), but all the old ones need to be re-added to have what I want? I'd like an option under 'edit' to re-load the thumbnail with whatever I choose (logo, screen-shot, etc.) that it gives me when I add a new one.
Thanks.

RE: 'Best for you' speed dialOpera Mini
Correction, the second one is 'surf easy', and they came back a third time after deleting them.

'Best for you' speed dialOpera Mini
i keep getting speed dials added to opera mini. One of them 'best for you' and appears to be a link to a gaming website, the other is 'safe surf' and appears to be an antivirus link. I thought it was just mini for android, but the 'best for you' link just appeared on mini for iOS. I deleted them on android but they came back again later, is this a promotion by opera or is something happening that shouldn't be? It all very well having default links when you first download the app, but I don't think opera should just add links whenever they feel like it...

RE: Opera Mini 10.1 for iOSOpera Mini
I'm also having issues with sync not syncing. Works with Mini for Android and Opera desktop on win7, but Mini for iOS just doesn't do it reliably. If I look with my phone it says mini iOS hasn't synced for 4 days, but the iPad always in the house, with the wifi on. I thought it might be because I turned off push notifications, so I turned them back on, but still an issue. Using the latest stable release and the latest iOS. I can force it sometimes by swiping up on the app list, and then reopening, but this doesn't always work either. Maybe a force sync button in sync settings would work? Hope it's fixed soon, otherwise I'm very happy with it. Thanks.

RE: Opera Sync Improvements 1 2 3Synchronization
I think I've found the issue with 1). It did it again last night after editing bookmarks with another PC. The desktop versions work just fine, updating from sync as they should. The ipad version doesn't necessarily check very often, so doesn't update. I could force an update by closing the app properly (swipe up in recent app view), and then re-starting. There was a slight delay in start up I'd not seen before, no doubt due to it updating from sync.
So the issue is with the ipad version only. Android Mini also works fine, and updates with no issues.

RE: Opera Sync Improvements 1 2 3Synchronization
Slight correction, I had signed with Opera Mini and Mobile to copy bookmarks across weeks ago, so I hadn't just been using it for 24h.
I had held off using it properly for some time, as when I first tried (with a different email address that stopped letting me comment in the forums for whatever reason) it didn't let me distinguish between work speed dials and home speed dials. The current system of separate dials and combined bookmarks is much much better, and means I can stop using 3rd party tools like Pocket. Just thought I'd give some praise for what is, on the whole, a very good browser. I actually swapped from FF to Opera at around v22, after using Mini and Mobile on my phone.

RE: Opera Sync Improvements 1 2 3Synchronization
OK, Thanks. Sounds like 30 will be good.
Point 1) appears to have sorted itself out now too. Not sure why it didn't work in the first 24h though... Maybe because I only bothered to register/confirm my email address to comment on the forums? There is nothing in the sign up process that says it wont work properly until you do though.

Opera Sync Improvements 1 2 3Synchronization
I've been experimenting with sync, but found a few issues. Running v29 stable on win7 PC, plus latest stable versions on ipad and android. Here are 3 ways I think Opera sync could be improved...
- Allow one Opera instance to delete bookmarks from another:
I connected 3 desktop installations together, plus my phone running Opera Mini for Android and Opera Mobile for Android, as well as an ipad running Opera Mini for iOS. I found I had quite a few duplicate bookmarks in various folders as I have added them on each device. Well, ok, so I spent some time deleting and sorting them on one of the desktops. I then checked the results with the ipad, but it didn't delete any of the ones I had deleted on the PC. It had copied the bookmarks from one place to another (giving me even more duplicates), but not deleted any of them. I added a speed dial to the ipad to make sure it was still working, and sure enough I could see it on the PC. This is annoying, and means I cannot organise them without doing it on all devices. Maybe some sort of web interface or master device (or even just update to the latest time stamp) would work.
- Allow me to remove of devices, as well adding them:
I have recently upgraded my main PC from Win7 32bit to 64bit (with more RAM and an SSD). I now have 2 entries in my speed dial folders for the same PC, one of which will never be used again. Opera does not allow me to remove it.
- Provide some sot of distinction between similar sync devices:
I am running both Opera Mini for Android and Opera Mobile for Android, depending on whether I want websites to work properly, or save me the most data. Since they are running on the same phone, I have the same device name for both sync entries. I'm guessing this would be even worse if you were to run the beta versions as well as the stable versions (4 on one device), and again if you were running the stable, beta and dev versions on one PC. To fix maybe just list the device name with the browser name/version underneath.
