RE: [Solved]Can't update due to GPG ErrorOpera for Linux
Just found answer here in a post from 2017:

[Solved]Can't update due to GPG ErrorOpera for Linux
Have not been updating Opera for some time. Now trying to update system from Opera 65 to latest.
Using Mint 18.3This is what shows when I try to refresh the updates:
An error occurred during the signature verification. The repository is not updated and the previous index files will be used. GPG error: https://deb.opera.com/opera-stable stable InRelease: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY DD3C368A8DE1B7A0Failed to fetch https://deb.opera.com/opera-stable/dists/stable/InRelease The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY DD3C368A8DE1B7A0Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
Does anyone have a fix for this?

RE: Just about all videos won't play!Opera for Linux
@silverfox66 They are out of sync, so you need the libffmpeg.o from version 70.
I found the old file under /var/cache/apt/archives - chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra_70.0.3538.77-0ubuntu0.16.04.1_amd64.deb.
I extracted the libffmpeg.so file from there and put it in the Opera directory (/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera/). - Opera for Linux

RE: Just about all videos won't play!Opera for Linux
@silverfox66 It looks like Chromium has been bumped to version 71 but Opera 57 is still based on 70.

@burnout426 said in Opera 54.0.2952.41: Streaming videos don't work anymore:
Try 54.0.2952.46. There's a video fix in the changelog.
After getting it all working I updated to that version - videos on Facebook broken again. Now there is an other release
(54.0.2952.51) available so will try that. If it is still broken I will try copying the same ffmpeg file again! What a palaver! -
RE: Opera 54.0.2952.41: Streaming videos don't work anymoreOpera for Linux
@appdevsw I have used a file from here. http://ppa.launchpad.net/canonical-chromium-builds/stage/ubuntu/pool/main/c/chromium-browser/
I had to look up which version of Ubuntu that Linux Mint 18.3 was based on. Found the answer was 16.04, so I have used the chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra_67.0.3396.62-0ubuntu0.16.04.1_amd64.deb file. (I am on a PC with AMD CPU motherboard).
It's a bit complicated when there are so many different version of the file for different versions of Ubuntu and processors. Would be a lot better if this software was tested before release. It probably wasted about 2 hours of my time. -

@appdevsw That link doesn't work for me. It says file not found.

@gloewa I agree, it would be good if these things were tested and not released if it is not working until they get it working. Every time they do this it gives the users major headaches and wasted time/productivity.

RE: Opera 54.0.2952.41: Streaming videos don't work anymoreOpera for Linux
I have had the same problem. Videos in Facebook not playing, videos on Bitchute.com not working.
Have had to start up the Brave web browser to get them playing.
I will try the method mentioned above, On Linux Mint there is no/usr/lib64/opera
directory, but there is/usr/x84_64-linux-gnu/lib/opera
. It might take me a while to try it though. -
Any way to change e-mail address?Forum feedback
Is there any way to change my e-mail address for the forum account? I looked under 'profile', and 'settings' but just can't see any way. Perhaps I have missed something but for the moment can't see it. Thanks.

RE: Opera processes missing from task managerOpera for Linux
Also, is the '--field-trial-handle' option meant to be there?

RE: Opera processes missing from task managerOpera for Linux
It would be good to know why this is happening. It seems that at the moment the only way to get rid of these processes is to shut down Opera and start it up again.

Opera processes missing from task managerOpera for Linux
I have noticed a number of times now that process numbers listed by the top command are missing in the Opera task manager. Could these be from tabs that have been closed but somehow not terminated properly when closed?
As an example from the top command:
27565 xxxxx 20 0 4439584 1.299g 64196 S 0.7 19.1 14:29.58 /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/opera/opera --type=renderer --field-trial-handle=15210405135860282877,198803473190905603,13107+
This process does not appear in the Opera task manager but appears to be using considerable memory.

RE: Problem with flash playerOpera for Linux
@jimunderscorep Okay, so I am not sure that is really a solution then because I have Chromium installed also, so that I can have a choice of browser to use - but use Opera or Firefox mainly.

@avl said in Problem with flash player:
@mrmatteastwood Install http://launchpadlibrarian.net/345863538/chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra_62.0.3202.94-0ubuntu0.16.04.1317_amd64.deb (you can upgrade it again to the most recent version once Opera 51 stable has been released).
The problem is that Chromium was updated to 64, and the chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra package that comes with Chromium 64 only works with Opera >=51.
The other way around as well: Opera 51 will only work with chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra >=64, so once Opera 51 has been released and you've updated, you'll have to upgrade this package again.
Would this mean that Chromium 64 won't work if you use that older package?

RE: Problem with flash playerOpera for Linux
@scottalan I am running Linux Mint 18.3 with Flash package adobe-flashplugin.
This is the latest package file in /var/cache/apt/archives : adobe-flashplugin_1%3a20171212.1-0ubuntu0.16.04.1_amd64.deb
Opera version 50.0.2762.67. -
RE: Animated gifs not working in Twitter/FacebookOpera for Linux
@jimunderscorep I see. Will be good if Opera can come up with a proper fix for this. Maybe it's not a good idea for them to rely on a Chromium package that could be a different version. Build a separate Opera version of the same package in case they are different versions? Which might mean having two similar packages but would at least be a solution to stop this happening every so often. It does seem to come up quite a lot.
