**How to Test with a New Profile Without Interfering with Your Default Profile (Standalone Installation)
If you need to test with a new profile in Opera to see if the problems you're having are caused by your default profile, you can do so without interfering with your default browser.
The easy way to do it is to download the Opera installer from https://www.opera.com/download, launch it, click "options", set "install path" to a folder named "Opera Test" on your desktop, set "install for" to "standalone installation", uncheck "import data from default browser" and install. Then, you can test in that Opera without enabling Opera Sync and without installing any extensions. Basically, you test Opera in its default state to see if your problem goes away. If so, then there's probably something wrong with your default Opera profile, which you can then investigate.
When you're done testing, you can close that Opera and delete the "Opera Test" folder.**
I will have a problem with the "Specify Different Profile Directory" instructions lowe down on that page, but i start with the above problem
