It would be nice to have the option of having some tabs not do tab snoozing when tab snoozing is enabled. You could have an option to "Disable tab snoozing for pinned tabs" or the ability to whitelist websites where tab snoozing will not occur. The way it is now is an all or nothing approach which I think can be improved upon since there are some websites logged into with information up that are effected when a tab is reloaded after being snoozed.

RE: Opera GX / Opera Touch - My Flow stopped working, can't reconnectOpera GX
@leocg I tried this and you are correct it seems to have only reset flow. Unfortunately it didn't fix my issue.
Do you know if flow is available for Opera for Android connected to Opera for Desktop that is already setup with sync using a passcode? I could never get this to work. The only way I could get it to work is to use the quick connect to device sync option, which creates a random account for all your sync data. When I tried this in the past I got flow working, but I want to use my existing sync account with a passcode, and this I could never get working.

RE: [Compilation]Devices appear multiplicated in opened tabs pageOpera for computers
@cfyzuk I am noticing the same issue, and based on the amount of complaints going around I have to assume it is a bug that is taking forever to get resolved. Hopefully they will fix it soon since it has already been close to half a year without a fix for this issue. I would prefer things like this got fixed first before prioritizing all the new features being added.

How to get flow working with Opera for AndroidOpera for Android
I have my Opera desktop setup to sync with a passphrase. The sync works fine on my opera desktop and opera for android. The problem is I can't get flow to connect. When I click Flow in opera desktop and then "Connect to Phone" it shows the QR code. In opera for android I go to Flow in the settings, and then click "Connect Device" and scan the QR code. It always says "Pairing - The use Flow, you need to set up syncing between your device. Navigate to opera.com/connect on your other device". The problem is I got syncing setup and working between the devices. If I use "Other Options" and use "Sign In", that also doesn't work.
The only way I was able to get it to work on opera for android is using the quick setup option for flow which creates a random account to use for all opera sync operations. I want to use my existing sync account with flow. Is this even possible?

RE: Opera 96.0.4693.20 Initial StableBlogs
@sopronman1965: Since installing the new Opera 96 I am getting the tab jumping also. If a click a tab that is shrunk down, it will jump to the right. Very annoying, I hope it gets fixed soon.

RE: [Compilation]Devices appear multiplicated in opened tabs pageOpera for computers
@leocg This issue has several forum posts, bug reports, and listed as a known issue for at least 1+ years. When is this known issue going to be fixed? If it is known by Opera developers, why are they not fixing such a major bug with an important functionality of Opera. I understand it takes time to get fixes in place and try to practice patience, but 1+ years seems like a long time for such a major issue.

RE: New AI tools now available in Opera and Opera GX for you to testBlogs
You have a bug regression. The following was fixed in version 96.0.4693.50 but is broken again in version 97.0.4719.26:
DNA-105141 Tabs to the right of the currently active one swap their position with another when clickedThese Opera updates feel rushed.

RE: Opera 97.0.4719.43 Stable updateBlogs
@adam1709 I have had the disappearing cross to close happening for a long time. I have to click the tab next to it and then click back on to the prior tab and then the X will appear to close. I hope that bug finally gets fixed at some point, it is annoying.

RE: Opera 100.0.4815.30 Stable updateBlogs
I noticed since upgrading to Opera 100 on Windows if I minimize a browser window with a tab, and that tab refreshes in the background, it un-minimizes the window and brings the windows and that tab to the front and takes over focus. Is there a new setting to turn this off or is this a bug??
Very annoying so I hope it gets fixed soon because I keep having tab windows pop open to the forefront when that tab reloads in the background causing it to loose focus, such as when typing this post.

RE: Opera 105 StableBlogs
@leocg: I only had 1 extension installed, and I disabled it and it made no difference. I am experiencing the same issue which didn't exist until I upgraded to Opera 105. Seems to be a display issue with making how it interacts with the GPU. I filed a bug report but probably going to need to downgrade to Opers 104 because it is usable in its current state. I upgraded to fix two of the bugs I was experiencing 104, and now I got 105 it is completely broken. This seems to happen just about every major version update now in days. Not sure how much longer I can use Opera if this continues.

RE: Opera will always help you block ads nativelyBlogs
@LayLayL : I guess we will have to wait and see in the coming days and weeks when they have time to talk with the selected extension developers what level of Manifest V2 will be supported beyond the June 2025 cut off date in Opera based on your assessment. You are correct in clarifying that the only thing mentioned in the post specifically that will work beyond the June 2025 cutoff date is their own native ad blocking. It did also say in the post that Manifest v2 will continue to work until they decide the best path forward, so I have to assume that decision will need to be made well before the June 2025 cut off date.
This is not negate the fact that Opera is the only Chromium based browser besides Chrome with a add-on store which would make it possible to distribute add-ons that support some form of Manifest V2 beyond the June 2025 cut off date. If I am incorrect about this, please feel free to correct me.
At this point Firefox has only said they have "no plans to deprecate MV2 and will continue to support MV2 extensions for the foreseeable future", and that if down the road they change their mind they would give at least 12 months notice to developers. So it sounds like Firefox has a wait and see approach also, but it sounds like it will extend well past the June 2025 Chromium cut off date. Firefox does have its own add-on store so it does have the ability to continue to support Manifest V2 in the same way Opera could if they decide to do so. I don't think Firefox is the only real alternative when it comes to the Manifest deprecation until Opera makes themselves more clear as to what level of Manifest V2 they plan on supporting beyond June 2025 in their browser and add-on store.
With that said, I do think Firefox is a great alternative if you're looking for a browser engine other then Chromium, and you want something that is Open Source based. Firefox mobile is also nice if you require the same plug-ins that work on the desktop to run on the mobile version, but at the cost of performance. In many users experience (including my own) they choose a Chromium based browser because of better performance and security, and choose a Chrome based alternative like Opera due to the great included features.

RE: Opera launches Opera One R2 – the best Opera Browser to dateBlogs
@healingcross316: Actually I see the opposite, when they update Chromium in a Opera release it is not always the latest Chromium version, which means they are backporting the security fixes into a older version which they had more time to test. They have said before themselves they backport fixes, and mention such instances from time to time (https://blogs.opera.com/security/2024/08/update-your-browser-security-fixes-for-latest-chrome-zero-day-cve-2024-7971/). It takes time for the upstream fixes to make it into all the Chromium based browsers, even for a big company like Microsoft and their Edge browser (I read their changelogs so I see the lag). If your really worried about being open to exploitation then you probably shouldn't be on the Internet since I can tell you no software is 100% secure, and there are always exploitations waiting to be discovered. The point is Opera does roll out security fixes as soon as possible based on needing to test for reliability, it is not like they are ignoring them completely as your insinuating.

RE: Opera launches Opera One R2 – the best Opera Browser to dateBlogs
@daria19: Great post about how Opera handles the Chromium updates. I always find it interesting how quickly users criticize Opera for not being on the latest Chromium version, without realizing it takes work on your end in ensure it doesn't totally break things by rolling it out too quickly. I know based on previous posts on this same topic that Opera will also prioritize pushing Chromium updates out as quickly as possible when major security issues are involved. I applaud the work you and Opera are doing considering how complex web browser are.

RE: Opera launches Opera One R2 – the best Opera Browser to dateBlogs
The most welcome news and feature from this update has to be that Opera R2 will continue supporting Manifest V2 extensions beyond the June 2025 cut off date. That is great news!!!

RE: Opera will always help you block ads nativelyBlogs
Bravo, well done, this is very big news that more Chromium users hopefully learn about. This makes Opera the only Chromium based browser that is committed and has the means to support Manifest V2 beyond the June 2025 cutoff. The reason it has the means is because Opera is the only Chromium browser besides Chrome that has its own addons store (https://addons.opera.com/en/) to continue to deliver Manifest v2 in an easy manner. This is another feature (among the many) that sets Opera apart from the rest of the Chromium browsers, and makes it the real alternative to Chrome.

I can't close the tabs. The X button is not there.
I was having that issue myself with version 114.0.5282.21, but seems to have been fixed in 114.0.5282.86. So make sure you have at least version 114.0.5282.86 installed.
One work around I found when the issue exists is to mouse off the tab and mouse back over the tab again and the X would appear if it was missing the original time I mouse over the tab.

RE: Opera 108Blogs
@derhimmelssheriff I agree, I am getting close to dropping Opera myself because the relentless bugs in each release is getting to be too much. The weird thing is I also use the Android Opera version and never have any issues, but the desktop Opera is a mess. I really wish they would concentrate on the bugs before releasing any new features. Will have to see how long my patience will last with these ongoing release bugs before I move to another web browser. You will have to update how Vivaldi is once you have more time to use it.
