I just upgraded from a win10 thinkpad (p51) to a win11 one (e16). I have the same problem. It was fine on my p51. I'd love a solution.

That's mostly killed my use of Mini. Night mode is about the only reason I open it now.

Who still uses Opera on iOS? Why?Opera Mini
I use it for ad blocking, but only on a few ad heavy sites.
I also use it (in season) at basketball games, on site where mobile is overwhelmed and Mini squeezes through more reliably.
Where does it work for you? Or does it?

@desertratr Not sure about changing the search engine, but you can create a favorite for it...

@redhounds yeah, I'd love to get rid of it, too. Such a waste of time and data.

RE: Opera VPN for iOS reconnection issue on wifiOpera Mini
@lopro said in Opera VPN for iOS reconnection issue on wifi:
The VPN connections seems on all the time while on 4G, even when the device has auo-locked itself, while on wifi it always has to reconnect whan waking which takes 5+ seconds. Any way to fix ?
I think that's more an iOS wifi thing. Any time an iphone locks/screen blanks, it puts wifi (mostly) to sleep - unless you're running an app that keeps it going, such as tunein radio. (It's apparently a frequently-detested "feature" to save battery life - wifi is steady drain.)
As I understand it, push notifications come in as a tiny notice via mobile data that will wake wifi up very briefly to allow the bulk of the notification through via wifi. The ones who disable mobile data are the ones who most detest it.
I guess Opera could offer a switch in the vpn app to keep wifi alive in whatever way tunein radio does it (it's the only app I regularly use that keeps wifi alive even when screen locked/blanked).

@pe73 It happened to me a little while ago, and a deletion and reinstall took care of it.

Mini on iOS 11 crashedOpera Mini
I just upgraded my iphone to 11.0.3, and Mini updated to 16.0.4 (as reported in the app store) right after.
Mini crashed when I tried to open it. I got a white screen with the red O and the word Opera below it. Then it went away. If I double clicked to go to the app switcher, I got a ghost image of it open, but if I selected it it went poof, again with the white screen and stuff.
This persisted through a reboot, but a deletion and reinstallation cleared it up.
Annoying, but thought folks might want to know...

The new ads were annoying enough. The news feed is worse.
I'm using Mini less and less...

I don't usually do this,Opera Mini
but why was "Thanks O.Mini devs for MHT!" closed down?
It seemed a reasonably useful thread.
Was there some policy line crossed?

RE: Display of web pages in Opera MiniOther phones
Most of (real) Mini happens at Opera Central. Not on your phone.
Things change at Central much faster than on the app on your phone, which just displays what Central sends down.
