RE: How do I make the task bar larger?Opera for Windows
I can confirm, increasing FONT in Message Box, then close Opera and open again, does increase the text size on tabs, the Opera button, and the address bar.
At least on Windows 7. I haven't tried 8 yet

Opera update not working, can't get past our proxy serverOpera for Windows
Opera updater pops up and asks for user/pass for our proxy server and doesn't accept anything. Our proxy server uses LDAP and authenticates with our Windows logon credentials. So it shouldn't be asking for authentication at all.
Chrome updates ok, but I had to add their update URLs to authentication bypass to do it.
Is there a URL or two I can add to our bypass list to allow Opera to do same?
I'm an admin guy, so I can do it.

RE: Add "show full web address" back to address bar. Hiding part of the URL is BAD.Opera for Windows
Thanks guys. Good to know it's there. I don't like that it's hidden away either. In fact I don't like that the full URL is hidden at all.
Making things simple and user-friendly so I don't have to think is great for the most part. But I would NOT put hiding part of the URL in the "user friendly" category at all. It hides important information that is useful to the user for the purposes of security.
I have to update Opera manually to see the option. Opera updater asks for authentication on our proxy and doesn't accept any user/pass/domain that I throw at it. It shouldn't be asking for authentication at all, any more than browsing does.

RE: I can't open new window instead of new tab. Where are advanced settings?Opera for Windows
Don't know what your problem is. If I click the Opera menu top right the first two options are "New tab" and "New Window".
If I press ctrl-T I get a new tab, if I press ctrl-N I get a new Window.
If I ctrl-click a link it opens in a new tab, if I shift-click a link it opens in a new Window.
What more do you want??

Add "show full web address" back to address bar. Hiding part of the URL is BAD.Opera for Windows
Following in the dangerous trend set by Google, Opera now hides part of the address and make it look more "user-friendly".
I regard this as potentially harmful. Making users more ignorant is bad for security.
I would also argue that it is not necessarily more "user-friendly" either.
I know, instead of showing the beginning part of the URL it tells you whether the site is secure or not - but I want BOTH.
You don't necessarily have to enable it for everyone, I just want the option back to "show full address".

Can't update Opera through my work's proxy serverOpera for Windows
Currently on 20.0.1387.82 - I gather this is not the latest version?
Opera gives an error when trying to update.
I'm on a work network and we connect to the internet via a proxy server, which connects and authenticates with our domain. So we log into the computer and those credentials authenticate to everything else including the proxy server.
This works fine with BROWSING in Opera 20 - it picks up the Internet Settings from IE/Control Panel and I can browse fine with no prompts or anything.
This is much better than Opera 12, which did not work with our proxy server at all.
However - the updating system doesn't work. Pops up with proxy authentication box but it will not accept any username or password. I've tried domain\username, FQDN\username, user@FQDN, first.last@FQDN - nothing works.
I do find it silly that browsers use a completely different system for updates than it does for browsing - we had trouble with Chrome too.

RE: Opera 18: where has "Report a bug" or "Report a site issue" gone?Opera for Windows
That's at work - because Opera has started failing to update when behind a proxy. Another bug. Chrome had the same problem until we, with some difficulty, found the site it tries to contact to check and download updates, and whitelisted it. I guess we'll have to do the same for Opera. Flash and Adobe Reader have no such problem though, and I'm pretty sure previous versions of Opera didn't either.

Opera 18 bug: image files with name suffix .tiff are not displayedOpera for Windows
.tiff files are displayed in the browser window in Internet Explorer and Safari. Haven't checked Firefox yet. In Opera (and Chrome) this file type is downloaded instead of displayed.
Example: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/324103/TAE Editor.tiff
If it is put on a web page in <img> tags it is shown as a broken image. It should be displayed as an image.

Opera 18: where has "Report a bug" or "Report a site issue" gone?Opera for Windows
This is all a bit dismaying. No option to report bugs in Opera anymore.
What can I do? Report a bug on this forum? But then there's a big message at the top of the forum saying the forums will be removed, they will be "replaced by our new forums" - is there a link to these new forums?
I'm all for change but when some basic stuff is taken away it's a bit disappointing.
