I just started using Opera, like it so far, I was using Firefox for the longest time but it just keeps crashing Anyhow, how do I make the task bar at the top of my screen larger? I can make the webpages font larger but I can't figure out how to make the task bar larger? Thanks!

You can't yet within Opera. HiDPI support got switched on by default in Chrome, and Opera wasn't quite ready to follow suit. I would think it's a very high priority now.
Shorter term, if you have Windows 7, you might take a look at this post. https://forums.opera.com/topic/3340/tab-font/2
You can use the Personalize feature of Windows to adjust Message Box, and or Menu. It's really quite easy. I know the Message Box setting can increase tab size, and it probably does the rest of what you're looking for. The Menu change affects the Opera menu. These are Windows Wide so you just want to make sure you're not unhappy with the changes elsewhere in Windows. It's simple to go back to what you had.

Unfortunately that didn't help me .. .but thank you for the input ... it's the very top bar on the screen, basically where all your open tabs are ... it's super tiny and hard to read

I realize your frustration. That can be very aggravating.
Are you using Windows 7. If so it should work. Did you increase the Message Box size? Then did you make sure to save it in all the right places. That is critical. There are two of three places. I'm not at my desktop right now, so can't describe it. After you do that, close the browser, and then open it. I know this works in a Windows 7 computer. I have tried it on my own. And others have confirmed it too.
People with Windows 8, though, are having problem. I just want to be sure ypu are using Windows 7, and have made the adjustment, saved it in the right places. Closed and then Opened the browser.

I can confirm, increasing FONT in Message Box, then close Opera and open again, does increase the text size on tabs, the Opera button, and the address bar.
At least on Windows 7. I haven't tried 8 yet
