[Solved]Geolocation pop up optionsOpera for computers
I've got a pop up on google regarding geolocation - the two options are "Accept and enable geolocation" and "Ask me later". I'm just wondering where the "No thank you - don't ask again" option is?

@rugby Yes, and you'd expect only to have press the button once. Clearly, Opera is not remembering or occasionally resetting my preference.

Dear Opera - stop snoozing my tabs!

RE: Bypassing all pop upsSuggestions and feature requests
@newworldman I do have the i dont care about cookies extension installed, but still find I'm getting pop ups for most sites. I delete cookies on browser exit so it is particularly noticeable.

Bypassing all pop upsSuggestions and feature requests
I find the main annoyance when browsing the internet nowadays are just about any form of pop up or float over window - especially accept cookie pop ups, sign up for newsletter type things, or those floating videos that follow you down the page on some news sites.
If Opera could come up with a means of dealing with these, that would be a killer feature IMO - putting users back in control of what they see.
Thanks

RE: [Implemented]Make selected tab more visible in dark modeSuggestions and feature requests
Jeez - I wish this was fixed (having once again closed a tab that I thought was the one I had just finished reading, but turned out to be another one).

@jamesconstance I get a popup saying "opera doesn't support chromium theme format." How did you get round this?
I used Brave browser

Agree.
I quite like this high contast theme from the chrome web store - it uses a different colour for the selected tab :https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/high-contrast-colorful/cdfdkmklcjlnnnlnplffpdiekfhkpbme

RE: Opera Extensions, Permissions & PRIVACY concerns!!!Opera add-ons
In the news https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2019/07/dataspii-technical-deep-dive/
It seems to me there should be a permission we can set that can prevent an extension from sending data to any website: without this many extensions can harvest our data and compromise our privacy.
Why is this permission not a standard obvious thing to include do you think?

RE: Clear cookies on exitOpera for Windows
I also notice that under Clear Browsing Data - there's the option to clear cookies and other site data - and it says 'signs you out of MOST sites'. I don't understand why this option wouldn't sign you out of ALL sites??

Maybe those sites aren't using (only) cookies?
I'm not sure - I'll have to keep an eye on it. Thanks.

Should you wish to auto remove cookies when closing the browser, one thing worth considering is Private mode.Go to the Opera folder and find the Launcher application.
Right click and send a shortcut to desktop.
Right click the desktop shortcut, then left click Properties.
In the target field, add "-private" (without quotes) at the end of the address.
Leave ONE space between the target address and -private
Click "Apply", then "OK" and restart.Your Opera desktop browser will now always start in Private mode, and when closing the browser it auto removes cookies etc, except for anything which you've saved.
Hope this is of some assistance. Thanks for the suggestion. Private mode does extra things however, such as remove history - and extensions aren't available.

Clear cookies on exitOpera for Windows
''Keep local data only until you quit your browser – Deletes cookies that have been added after this preference was enabled when closing the browser.'' -doesn't appear to be working - in that I I find that I am still logged into at least some websites even after I have restarted windows. Thanks

Opera Help: extensions optionsOpera for Windows
I'm looking at the Opera Help file on extensions [https://help.opera.com/en/latest/customization/#extensions] but it doesn't give any information for 3 tick box options on the extension page.
- Allow on all websites
- Allow access to search page results
- Allow access to file URLs
Can anyone tell me what these options do or point me to the documentation?
Thanks

[Duplicated]Browser securityOpera for Windows
Just wondering how much of a security risk extensions are and whether that risk can be mitigated in any way? The info pop up on the extension in the extensions management page says the extension can access your data on all websites - how do we know that the extension isn't sending all this info to a third party? What is the effect of deselecting the check box "Allow on all websites"? Thanks.
(I didn't receive any answers for this question in the add-ons section, so I have reposted it here).

Disable third party cookies and clear cookies on exitOpera for Windows
Hi
A couple of the privacy features I like about Opera are the ability to not allow 3rd party cookies and to clear all cookies on leaving the browser - these make it much harder for web sites to track us.
In the latest version of the desktop browser the settings layout has been changed and I do not see these options. Are they still around?
Similarly, one used to be able to view the cookies and individually delete them, if I remember correctly.
Thanks
James
