''Keep local data only until you quit your browser – Deletes cookies that have been added after this preference was enabled when closing the browser.'' -doesn't appear to be working - in that I I find that I am still logged into at least some websites even after I have restarted windows. Thanks

Should you wish to auto remove cookies when closing the browser, one thing worth considering is Private mode.Go to the Opera folder and find the Launcher application.
Right click and send a shortcut to desktop.
Right click the desktop shortcut, then left click Properties.
In the target field, add "-private" (without quotes) at the end of the address.
Leave ONE space between the target address and -private
Click "Apply", then "OK" and restart.Your Opera desktop browser will now always start in Private mode, and when closing the browser it auto removes cookies etc, except for anything which you've saved.
Hope this is of some assistance. -

Maybe those sites aren't using (only) cookies?
I'm not sure - I'll have to keep an eye on it. Thanks.

I also notice that under Clear Browsing Data - there's the option to clear cookies and other site data - and it says 'signs you out of MOST sites'. I don't understand why this option wouldn't sign you out of ALL sites??
