Anyone hear anything? Reuters said that earlier they were up to 'around' 89%. Yikes!

As far as I can tell, the offer period has ended. I just don't know if they got to 90% acceptance or not.

How is this acquisition going? Is Opera really going to be sold?
AFAIK it didn't end yet.
Looks like it ends soon, but won't go through. Less than 73% of stockholders have agreed, and 90% or more need to agree for the transaction to take place. The offer will expire on May 24th, if they don't reach 90%.
The browser had an update today, and Opera likes to sneak in extra speed dial icons with each update. They have done this for a long time, both on mobile and on desktop. It is just a way for them to make some money. I agree it is annoying, but at least it is easy to remove them.
There is no way of preventing them from doing this as far as I know.
Same issue here. Windows 8.1. It keeps reverting back to the leaf theme.
It works fine on my Windows 10 machine, though.
If Opera is worried about malware adding default search engines, why not just check the search engine file for changes and if any changes were detected since last launch, run a check on the URLs through Phishtank?
There will not be any completely safe way to do search engines as people will always find ways around it, but like wofall said, if a user has malware, they probably have much more to deal with than fake search engines.
The defaultpartnercontent swap worked for me! It still is strange for Bing to just get dropped off like that without any explanation, though. I assume it was a fluke, but who knows?
Thank you so much for this thread! I was actually switching to Chrome temporarily until I could solve this issue! I have uninstalled/reinstalled Opera numerous times trying to figure it out.
I am in the same boat as freebikerman2014. I am running the latest (paid for) BitDefender Total Security 2015 on Windows 8.1 and it has been causing my Opera to run VERY slow. (It has slowed Opera only recently, though. I have had BitDefender for quite some time, but the slowness is fairly recent as in about the last 1-2 months.) Like freebikerman2014 said, turning off 'Active Virus Control' under 'Antivirus' in BitDefender solves the slowness instantly. I am not willing to leave that disabled, though. I will look into it and see if I can find another way to fix this.
You can just download Opera Mobile Classic and have bookmarks again. Opera does not update it anymore, but it still works.

There are no more updates for Opera on the Wii. It is no longer being maintained. If you want an updated web browser from Nintendo, you'll need to buy a Wii U. The Wii U browser isn't from Opera, but it sure works great!
If you enable the Bookmarks Bar, you can add it there. Not optimal, but it works.
One way is to add a new Speed Dial entry pointed to opera://bookmarks and then drag it up to the Bookmarks Bar.
I've been using Stylish to give me the ability to apply custom CSS stylesheets to individual websites and its been working pretty good. Not as good as Opera 12's Site Preferences, but its a start.

Just a note to anyone having issues with Opera 12 on a proxy or zscaler. Go to opera:config and turn off 'Certificate revocation lists for ssl.'
Same story here with Opera 18-20. Doesn't seem to be miserably slow, but slow enough to be noticeable. Definitely has issues on certain news or blog sites with their overstuffed websites.
Also Opera 12 won't load any sites at all; just sits there loading. Seems to have issues with allowing the proxy to redirect it.
My issue might all just be zscaler's fault, though.

It's not that either. Cut also works, from the menu or with Ctrl X. Try to diagnose the real cause before reporting any bugs. It's probably by design if there's a way to cut or copy part of the URL.
Thanks. I'll disable some extensions and try to figure out whats causing it.
EDIT: Disabled all extensions and looked through opera:flags disabling anything it could be yet it still does not work with cutting. Both on Opera 19 and 18 and both by right clicking and cutting or just Ctrl X. Copy works just fine for me, though. Oh well.

I believe that it does. Just focus the field and copy.
Test: https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/classic-tabs/?display=en
By habit I cut and paste URLs, likely due to cut being above copy when right clicking. I just noticed that. So the issue is with cutting. Would that count as a bug? Maybe I should report it.

Have you tried Classic Tabs? It has a setting "Open all tabs at the end of the tab bar" which makes all new tabs pop up on the right.

It also has an option to force Shift Click to open a new tab instead of window, but it doesn't work for me.
Side note: Anyone know of an extension to fix the address bar? I've given up on being able to ever see the HTTP or query parameters ever again, but it should AT LEAST let me copy an URL fully. I had to manually type the http onto that pasted URL above, for example. Took me a minute to realize why it wasn't auto-linking.
I can confirm. Opera dev 19. Using the HD 'Planets' theme at Gmail.
Also on my other PC, I was having trouble getting Paste to work on their new Compose email. Just wouldn't paste anything at all. Pasting works on on this PC, so it may have been caused by Ad Muncher. (Can't check now, that PC is busy with Win updates.)
