Yes, I realized that any change in appearance on the speed dial page was probably unrelated to the UAC bug; I was simply pointing out that a change in appearance is a little clue that an Opera update was recently taken.

So I can find that developer build in Desktop Team Blog. I see! Mmmmm. A developer build can have several and/or serious issues. Thanks for the warning and for explaining where to find it. I'm just not that adventurous! Thanks to your explanations, I feel that the UAC bug is something I can live with for awhile. You've put my mind at ease. 🙂

Well that's a definite downgrade. The news looked good on the speed dial. It's harsh on the eyes in its own little interface. Big fail.

How do I manually check for Opera browser updates please?

Go to "About Opera" in the menu. From times to times also go to the Desktop Team Blog to check the newest releases.
