@milowebastyczny I'm also having numerous issues. Using the Opera browser, some of my most frequently used sites are no longer functioning correctly. A few days ago, I began transitioning to Firefox.

@cynthiajg This issue appears to be resolved after Opera's new version was installed today. Thank you, Opera engineers.

RE: [Solved]Opera browser automatically zoomsOpera for Windows
@sgunhouse Thanks for writing back. Right. I'm only typing letters. The Opera shortcuts for zooming require a combination of keys that are not letters.
This is a bug. I've reported this issue through the Opera bug report wizard. Interestingly, while I was typing the bug report, the entire window zoomed in from 100% to 90%. That is a bug.

[Solved]Opera browser automatically zoomsOpera for Windows
Reporting a bug: My Opera browser automatically zooms a page where I type. When playing a word game at Lumosity.com, the page zooms in multiple times. I have switched to a different browser until this is resolved. I never had this or any similar issues with any previous version of Opera.

RE: User Account Control Message appears each time I open Opera browserOpera for Windows
Yes, I realized that any change in appearance on the speed dial page was probably unrelated to the UAC bug; I was simply pointing out that a change in appearance is a little clue that an Opera update was recently taken.
So I can find that developer build in Desktop Team Blog. I see! Mmmmm. A developer build can have several and/or serious issues. Thanks for the warning and for explaining where to find it. I'm just not that adventurous! Thanks to your explanations, I feel that the UAC bug is something I can live with for awhile. You've put my mind at ease.

RE: User Account Control Message appears each time I open Opera browserOpera for Windows
Thank you leocg. Not being rude taking so long to reply, just sleeping. Thanks for your commitment to this forum.
Which version I'm using? Version 47.0.2631.39 (PGO), the same as solplassen. I did notice a change in colors on the speed dial page yesterday, so I assumed that the introduction of the UAC bug I originally pointed out happened with an update taken yesterday; I'd be more specific, but I see no indication of the date of the most recent update on the "About" page of the Opera browser.
Opera 48 developer build; I'm not sure how to find this. Usually I install whatever opera.com is currently offering, while enjoying the automatic updates.
I feel certain that this little bug will be sorted out in short order. Thank you for the discussion.

RE: User Account Control Message appears each time I open Opera browserOpera for Windows
If the bug was the appearance of a UAC popup every time Opera is launched, then perhaps the bug wasn't fixed after all, as today is the first day I've ever seen it, and I use Opera every day. Hopefully the browser team gets word of this; it's a deal breaker for me.

Thank you for answering so quickly, leocg. But I'm somewhat of a dope. You're telling me that the UAC popup is normal? At least for now the popup is normal?

User Account Control Message appears each time I open Opera browserOpera for Windows
This started today. Each time I open the Opera browser on my Windows 7 computer, a message appears from "User Account Control", asking, "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?" The program indicated by user account control is Opera web browser. Answering "yes" or "no" results in the same -- Opera opens and functions normally. I've tried restarting my computer, but that had no effect. The message continues to appear.

Thanks very much, leocg. "Personal News", just underneath the Bookmarks heart. Indeed I like this better.

This morning I notice that all of the news items underneath my sites on the the Speed Dial page no longer appear. They're all gone. Is this normal?

I also experience this.
When you first come to the forums page, wait for the page to fully load. See if that doesn't fix it.

RE: Not able to stream Amazon Prime - WidevineOpera for Windows
Less than a month ago, I gave Amazon feedback about my cruddy Amazon Prime video quality. Here's what I told them and what they communicated back. I didn't mention that I was streaming using Opera. Anyway, I took their advice and now I get a good picture in Chrome. Opera is my default browser, but I don't expect it to do all things at all times. Is there some extension I could include in Opera to make my Amazon videos play well? I think that I did try to figure it out, but I never did figure it out. So for now, it's Chrome when streaming Prime shows.

Your Name: C
Other info:null
Comments:Living in the country, using broadband with a downstream of only 1.5 Mbps, I just assumed that the abysmal video reception I get while streaming Amazon Prime movies and shows was the best I could expect streaming from anywhere.I was wrong. I get a pristine picture while streaming via Hulu. It blew me away, the difference in quality. I'll never think well of Amazon Prime Video until this is fixed. Please, please fix this.
Next I'm planning to try NetFlix. For me Amazon Prime Video is history, but I will keep checking back occasionally to see if this issue has been addressed.
Amazon's Response (to me one day later)
Hello C,
I'm sorry to hear about the trouble streaming Amazon Prime videos. I'll be glad to help you.
I've checked your account streaming history and researched on the same and I found that there is some issue with your browser and plug-in.
Amazon Video no longer streams using Flash player. As we continually seek to improve our service, this occasionally means we can no longer support certain platforms.
To watch Amazon Video on your computer, we recommend using our HTML5 video player because it's optimized to work with our service and includes access to features like Auto Play, and full 1080p High Definition playback.
Amazon Video is available on the following browsers that support our HTML5 video player:
-- Chrome (version M42 or newer)
-- Internet Explorer (version 11 or newer)
-- Microsoft Edge on Windows 10The player loads automatically--just open Amazon Video from one of these supported browsers and try watching your video again.
For Firefox and Safari, Amazon Video is available to watch using the Silverlight player plugin. To access Silverlight from Firefox or Safari, you may need to make sure that your Add-ons or Plugins preferences are set to "Ask to Activate" or "Always Activate" Silverlight. If needed, you can also reinstall Silverlight from Microsoft at:
http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/Get-Started/Install/Default.aspx.
If you are still having trouble streaming video, You can contact us by phone or chat by visiting our Contact Us page (www.amazon.com/contact-us). We're available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
I hope this helps! We look forward to seeing you again soon.
We'd appreciate your feedback. Please use the links below to tell us about your experience today.

RE: Where's the update button?Opera for Windows
Updates. Some time ago I also posted about how to get updates. Relatively new to Opera, having just been using it for around 3 months, I think I get it now. To get the latest Opera updates, I must do exactly...nothing! I've come to appreciate that.
I'm especially enjoying the latest update received this morning when I first opened Opera; it's evolving wonderfully.
A small suggestion for Opera. Say something about how Opera updates, perhaps in Setting - Opera Help or
http://help.opera.com/opera/Windows/2066/en/
It could be mentioned somewhere on that page (am I missing it, and it's already there?), under FAQ, or over to the left among the topics on the dark gray sidebar. -
RE: Speed dial page theme brightness is dark. Settings page is normal.Opera for Windows
Now this morning I see some changes on the speed dial page, and I'm liking those changes very much. More themes are now available...fun! My all time favorite theme, the greenery with some leaves, has been toned down somewhat, darkened; thanks, it was too glaring for me, so I appreciate it very much! I find it easier to read the under-titles for each site. Did the under-titles even exist before today's update? Anyway, they really pop now...so nice. Perhaps you could give us choices when it comes to brightness, but please don't take away the the new darkened one; I like it very much. Please keep the themes (preferably non-moving ones) coming.

How to get updatesOpera for Windows
Surely there is already information in the forum about this; truthfully I didn't look for very long.
Been enjoying Opera on my Windows 7 laptop for a couple of months now; I'm beginning to feel very attached.
How do I manually check for Opera browser updates please? To no avail I've looked and looked for a "check for updates" button. I see nothing.
Thanks.
